I provide professional steelpan entertainment for all occasions. I am reliable as far as being on time, always prepared, and willing to meet your needs to create the best possible musical experience. Im also a Berklee College of Music alumni so I'm highly trained theoretically.
Prior to the event, we received a phone call from Andre. He informed us that due to an emergency he would not be able to play our event. He did however make arrangements to have another band member stand in as a replacement. We understood the whole emergency situation. However, we were still a little apprehensive. I have to say there was no need to worry. The person sent as a replacement turned out to be very professional. He showed up on time and played beautifully. It was an outdoor event, with a Caribbean theme. Our guest said they felt like they were actually in Jamaica. The decorations along with the Steel drums, added to the ambiance. We would definitely recommend and use them again.

Working with Andre was easy and he was very accommodating. He answered emails quickly and his service was exactly what we were looking for at our wedding. Our guests loved the detail of the steel drum as I walked down the aisle. Would recommend Andre to anyone looking for a professional steel drum player.

Thank you!!! It was really an honor to have Culture Efx perform at our family event. Dre truly enjoys playing steel drums and captivated everyone with his music and presence! He had a wide selection of old school and contemporary songs! We only regret not booking him longer. He deserves all of the accolades we can give because he is a highly-skilled, handsome, modestly charming, and talented artist! Best wishes for continuing success in your career and stay blessed!
Andre was accommodating, timely, and professional. The playlist was a great mix of old pop Soca and new hiphop which kept the dancers young and old grooving. Well Done! Highly Recommended!

What to Expect
When I perform my solo gigs I usually bring one speaker, a small side table, laptop, and my instrument. Its a very small setup that fit easily in a corner. I use backing tracks for most of my renditions, as well as I have the ability to accompany myself. Im not a vocalist but if required I do have a vocalist on demand that I can bring with me as well as my own trio.
Andre White is one of today’s youngest most prolific steel-band arrangers, composers and performers. Starting from the age of six, in the little village of Freeport, NY, he began playing with family based band ADLIB Steel Orchestra in which most if not all of his talents were explored, exposed, and fostered. Beginning on the tenor pan, Andre quickly learned how to play all the other instruments in the steelband family but falling in love in particularly with the Alto pan, the Double Seconds. Growing up, Andre also learned to play other contemporary instruments such as the Trombone, Drums and Percussion, Keys, along with others through his public school education process.
At the age of fourteen, Andre began working and experimenting with ADLIB’s stage side and began developing his own style learning from the works of the great steelband arrangers before him such as Len ‘Boogsie’ Sharpe, Jit Samaroo, Clive Bradley, Ray Holman, Earl Rodney, and others. In 2006, Andre entered his First Panorama under the tutelage and in accompaniment by Michael ‘Chalkie’ George in NY. The group placed 10th but had proved to be a great learning experience for Andre. The following year, with Andre solely at the helm of arranger, the band placed 3rd in NY Panorama, and the following years only led to more and greater success. Andre won Panorama three times with Adlib 2008, 2011 and 2012 and placed 2nd in 2009 and 2010. In 2008, Andre began working with London based powerhouse, Mangrove Steel Band where he quickly became no stranger to success with them, coming 2nd in 2009, 2010, 2012, and winning London panorama in 2011. Also arranging for various different bands such as Clico Sforzata, Tamana Pioneers, and the legendary Witco Desperadoes.
From 2008-2012, Andre attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in which he was award numerous scholarships and graduated with a degree in Professional Music. There he studied and learned various jazz improvisation techniques with Ed Saindon, Dave Samuels, Gustavo Agiatello, Rebecca Cline, Ron Maudi, and many others. Andre has also shared the stage with many other well-known artist such as Etienne Charles, Andy Narell, Liam Teague, Mighty Sparrow, Robert Greenidge, Leon Foster Thomas, Ben Williams, and many others.
Already accomplishing so much at a young age, Andre understands there is so much more for him to experience in the life of a successful musician. “In the end my main focus is stay true to myself and the music. Once I take care of the music, the music will take care of me.”
