Combining their own musicality with the sound and intelligence of Sinatra and Bennett, they're more than a Sinatra tribute band and succeed by making the music their own. From swinging interpretations of the classic songbook, jazz, jazz-pop, Jobim, blues (including an Oscar-winning Dylan tune), originals, and comedic parodies written by featured vocalist/hand percussionist and Seinfeld veteran Andy Cowan, audiences will have a grand old time.

About
The Cowan Beck Group features vocalist, ANDY COWAN, an award-winning writer/performer (Seinfeld, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Cheers) whose natural command of the classic songbook AND lyrics separates him from the other pretenders to the throne. This Who's Who in America biographee has graced jazz clubs and special events throughout Los Angeles (and radio and TV) for over three decades, his youthful appearance notwithstanding, beginning with his breakthrough performance of "Sinatra" singing pop and rock songs of the '80s accompanied by Jack Sheldon, Plas Johnson & the rest of the stellar Mort Lindsey Orchestra on The Merv Griffin Show: https://youtu.be/ID8pHzhVbX4
Andy's original country blues tune, Hitchin' on the Highway of Life (music, lyrics & vocals ... https://youtu.be/Faz-wT6wEZk), with arrangements by Springsteen session musician, Marty Rifkin, has won five international songwriting nods and is featured in the film Andy wrote and appears in, Knocked Down (an official selection in the 2008 San Fernando Valley International Film Festival and 2009 Southeast New England Film, Music & Arts Festival, where it won for best comedy).
NINA BECK's keyboard prowess has been likened to world-renowned artists Diana Krall, Kenny Barron, and Marian MacPartland. A seasoned player/songwriter and veteran of major venues throughout Los Angeles, she's accompanied such greats as jazz and blues legendary vocalist Ernie Andrews.
Their basic configuration of top-flight musicians -- keyboard, bass, drums, vocals, can be augmented with sax/flute... or can start with an efficient duo -- keyboard/key bass, vocals/Cajon hand percussion
THIS GROUP'S TOP-NOTCH QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM CAN LEND AN EXCITING AIR TO ANY EVENT... AT A PRICE THAT'S EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE!

Testimonials
Thank you again for the job that you and your troupe did on our 4th of July evening. You and your band were really, really terrific! Exactly what we wanted as well as needed.
I'll DEFINITELY keep you in mind for ANY events - at all of our properties that would necessitate music.
I am a man of my word and will keep you in mind.... for everything. (I also am a big fan of your band - so your staying in mind for events is not going to be difficult for me).
PS: Did you check out our twitter today? I've Twittered about your website and music! Hopefully, this shoots you some business. With close to 200 "followers" watching our twitter updates, the Twitter I did for you SHOULD bring some exposure.

Hi Andy and Nina! I just want to send you this note to thank you for the excellent job you did for us at my anniversary party. I must say Andy, I was totally AMAZED at how much you sounded like Frank Sinatra! You have his sound and style down pat! And that backup band of yours is fantastic! I just didn't know how wonderful live Jazz could be in a party atmosphere and how swing music could make people get up and dance all night! (that is, for us folks who have always been Sinatra fans and jazz fans, not that the Latin tunes you also played were in any way less so). I am very glad we found you and will put you on the top of our list for any other similar events that we host. All our friends were delighted you came, promptly and well prepared. Good luck with your new ventures and hope to have you again some time soon.
Thank You
– Rachel Mathews
I'm happy to recommend you, you have always done a great job and I've enjoyed working with you. Let me know if I can be of service in any way!
I look forward to working with you and your group again in the near future.

Andy Cowan and the Nina Beck Trio entertained the crowd at the Hip Kitty Jazz and Fondue Club in Claremont on March 20.
This was another successful night for the Hip Kitty as the group gave a great jazz performance.
“They are really good,” booker Chris Needham said. “I think he sounded a lot like Frank Sinatra.”
Cowan’s smooth voice and great vibe kept the crowd entertained and relaxed as they enjoyed their meals.
The band played well together and made a great debut.
Beck, the pianist, is a familiar face around the café.
Nancy Tessier, Hip Kitty owner, noted that Beck plays there every Tuesday for piano night, and is quite good.
Beck is so good in fact that Tessier said she takes requests from the crowd and can play almost anything.
Cowan, originally from Philadelphia, resides in Santa Monica and has been singing in jazz clubs and on TV for about 20 years.
He's also written for popular sitcoms, like Seinfeld.
The comparisons between Cowan and Sinatra have been made throughout the years, giving Cowan a priceless compliment to his performances.
