We are a Folky Pop Rock band that plays Worship and Contemporary Christian Music! We desire to bring an authentic worship experience to you and your guests, wherever that may be!
When a youth group of 19 travels for 3 hours stuffed into three cars, just to see 5 guys giving glory to God, you know you've got something special on your hands. That's how I feel about The Common Thread. These guys from the very beginning were professional , down to earth and very much willing to go out of there way to go get the pizzas when I didn't have anyone else to go, O btw, did I mention these guys are really talented. From the 1st song to the very last your just pulled in, you can't help but sing along and worship God with'em, I even helped them do their worship slides, which for me was a pleasure seeing how these guys brought something that I will very much always remember and want again next year. You know, some people say that the speaker is the most memorable part of a worship conference, I disagree and I think the youth group of 19 that drove 3 hours from Yuma would too. The Common Thread is very much an experience I'll never forget and If you don't ever experience them, I have no apologizes in saying" The experience is very much something I'll enjoy in your place ". Thank you Common Thread, never stop giving glory to God.

We are a group formed from the Grand Canyon University Worship Art's program. The Common Thread seeks to spark creativity and joy into the worship music culture.
Ronnie:
Ronnie Petkovich is a 19 year old, originally from the city of Prescott, Arizona. His involvement of music was catalyzed around his sophomore year in high school, where he started taking voice lessons and performing in local productions. Ronnie joined The Common Thread after meeting and playing music with Josh Wathen and Cory Senator. In addition to music and worship leading, Ronnie also enjoys being involved in recreational athletics. Ronnie is in his second year at GCU.
Cory:
Cory was born and raised in Quincy, Illinois in a house full of musical influence. After picking up a guitar in his early childhood, music continued to become a passion in his life, leading him to several musical endeavors. At the age of 17, everything changed when Cory was saved at a local youth group. His new passion for Christ became a lens through which every other desire in his life was viewed. He now desires to use his musical gifts to further the kingdom of God and to encourage others in the Lord. Cory is in his second year at GCU.
Joshua:
Josh, also from Quincy, Illinois, grew up in a Christian home. His parents, as well as surrounding family were very supportive of his musical gifts from very early on and he attended the same church for the first eighteen years of his life. Josh began playing drums at age 2, and from there built on many instruments including the guitar, cello, bass, and singing. Josh knew he wanted to go into worship in his freshman year of high school after having a worship experience at summer camp and hearing the testimony of the worship leader. Josh's main desire is to use his gifts for the glory of the Lord and for the ministering of people. Josh is in his first year at GCU.
Bobby:
Bobby Parker is 18 years old and originally from a small town in Washington called Deer Park. In high school, he was a drummer in his local church and school band and also played soccer. Long walks on the beach and candlelit dinners are some of his hobbies and interests. Bobby joined The Common Thread when Ronnie, Cory, and Josh approached him during a class on the first day of school and everything fell into place from there. Bobby is in his first year at GCU.
Adam:
Adam was born in Bakersfield, California, but early in his life moved to the small town of Pahrump, Nevada. Even though he grew up in a Christian home, Adam did not dedicate his life to Christ until his late high school years. In his late high school years is where he found his love for music. Picking up the bass at his local youth group, Adam knew what he wanted to do with his life… well not really. After high school he attended the local community college and received his criminal justice degree. If you need a bass player/security guard, he’s your guy! Adam is now a first year at GCU achieving his Bachelor Degree in Worship Arts. He is also the best looking member of The Common Thread.
All five members are a part of Grand Canyon University's Worship Arts program and are working towards a Bachelor's degree in Worship Arts. In addition, all of them attend and serve in their respective churches in the valley area as either worship team members or worship interns.
