Band Bio:
During the last six years, The Chimpz have been one of the
hardest working unsigned music groups recording and performing
today. The Los Angeles natives have recorded and released a
total of four albums, two being EPs. The band has established a
strong fan base across the country.
With the lineup of Artimus Prime (Lead vocals), Shawn "Sonic" Lyon (Bass), Doug Weiand (guitar), Cary Singman (guitar), and Sean “Cappy” Topham (drums).

The Chimpz caught the attention of television producers and
music supervisors. They were featured on every episode of
MTV’s “Bam Margera’s Unholy Union” and more recently on three seasons of FX Network’s “Sons of Anarchy,” one of the most watched scripted series on television. “Home Invasion” (Season 3) has over 91,000 YouTube views, “Mr. 44” (Season 5), with over
70,000 views, and “Right to Left” (Season 7) has over 90,000
views. The three official music videos earned The Chimpz over
200,000 views on YouTube thus far.
Since inception, The Chimpz have toured extensively, playing 80 to 120 shows per year around the country, including many notable festivals. The Chimpz toured at
Rockstar Uproar Festival (2010), Rocklahoma (2013),
Rocklahoma (2014), Loudwire Music Festival (2015), Diablo
Music Festival (2015), and Rocklahoma (2015). The band has opened and performed alongside Guns N Roses, Alice In Chains, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Korn, A Day To Remember, Disturbed,
Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Staind, Chevelle,
Godsmack, Slayer, and Kid Rock. The Chimpz have performed in front of well over 600,000 people.Without the assistance of a label. The Chimpz promoted their
music through a radio campaign. As a result of their own
grassroots efforts and the radio campaign, fourteen Modern Rock stations across the country have played The Chimpz music.
Some select major markets include West Palm Beach, Fl.,
Atlantic City, NJ., Chicago, IL., and Riverside, CA. In 2014, with
the single release of “California,” The Chimpz earned a spot at
#16 on the Mediabase Active Rock Independent Artists Ranking, #42 Mediabase Active Rock Activator chart, #78 Mediabase Active Rock chart, and #121 BDS Mainstream Rock chart. The radio story continues to grow and most recently in August 2015, the track was played on Mainstream Rock station WKCN-HD in Columbus, GA.
The Chimpz have active sponsors including Schecter Guitars, Bogner Amplification, Sabian Cymbals, Xcel Drumsticks, Converse, Sullen Clothing, Hustledank Clothing, Pickbay, Rock N Roll Gangstar clothing, JBL, Harman, AKG, and Jagermeister. The band have expanded their brand and developed their own line of coffee, vape juice, jewelry and a wide assortment of merchandise and gear.
