The Brinjal Band

We can play high energy or quieter ambience world music with or without professional bellydancers. We can do medieval set, a bellyrock set, a fairy tale set, or just straight up belly dance music. We can play from 20 minute to three hours.
We can bring a small PA system or use yours. Costuming available, too
The exotic drum rhythms are at the heart of the songs, and over that a soaring flute, a grounded bass, sometimes a dancing violin create complex melodies in unusual scales. We will work with you to craft the show you want. A written program or verbal explanations of the sons' origins can be worked in if you want an edutainment experience.

Brinjal conists of 3-8 instrumentalists, depending on the clients needs and our availability. We can play as exotic background music, dance music, as an educational multicultural show, and as part of a belly dance show or a fairy tale themed show.
As background music, we lend your event a worldly, multicultural ambience.
As dance music, we can rock out tunes from many nations.
As an educational show, we explain the background of each song, the cultural and historical story that the music can tell.
Some of he band members are also dancers, and we can incorporate Middle Eastern Dance into the show, as entertainment or as part of the educational show.
We can bring in an entire troupe of dancers to perform with us. The Aubergine Belly Dance troupe performs traditional and modern Arabic and Turkish style dances.
And we can also craft a show to be pure fantasy, weaving in the fairy tales of old, and telling a story with the music and dance.

Brinjal Band plays songs from Nations both real and imagined. Danceable and exotic, we engage the audience with the unusual rhythms and enchanting melodies of Turkey, Egypt, Israel,Greece, Armenia, and more.

We are often accompanied by beautiful dancers (for an additional fee).
We are available for local MD/VA/PA/DE shows, and parties, and festivals.

We also have an excellent and entertaining multicultural educational show for schools and libraries. Kids love us, too!
