The Baytown Big Band, formerly The Baytones, is an 18-piece Big Band that has been together since 1995. They are repeat winners of the Review Magazine "Best Big Band Award," winning in 1997, 1998, 2003, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. They are also the winners of the 2010 Freeland Freedom Festival "Battle of the Bands."
The Baytown Big Band has a large "book." This enables them to play vintage swing tunes to modern jazz selections. They play selections from Miller to Maynard, Goodman to Goodwin.
For "Good Music for Good Times," the Baytown Big Band is your best bet.
Our event yesterday went off without a problem. The band was wonderful and played all the songs that the folks in attendance remembered. People filing out after the concert said they were transported back to the 40's which was a memorable time for them.
I'd hire them again in an instant.....
