Overview
The Baker's Basement is an indie acoustic duo that hails from Cleveland, Ohio. Percussionist Kate Dedinsky captains a miniature drum set while Adam Grindler strums the acoustic guitar; both members do the singing, often bouncing phrases back & forth and interweaving harmonies. A performance by tBB often involves a healthy array of original, cover, and instrumental music. Genres include indie, folk, and rock with hints of jazz, funk, and jam. With tBB, expect a lively & curious display of music that sings with varying speed, humor, and emotion.

We had the pleasure of having the Baker’s Basement play during our cocktail hour at our outdoor wedding. They sounded absolutely amazing, and our guests totally loved them, too. They let us choose from their list of songs and played so many of our favorites (including tons of nostalgic/indie songs that our guests loved). The duo was super easy to communicate with and were so easy to work with — and also just great people! We can’t recommend them highly enough, and are so glad we found them.

We hired The Baker's Basement for on outdoor dinner and they were perfect. Fun setup, they sound great, and they are awesome people. Our forklift got stuck while setting up, and they didn't hesitate to jump in and help. They also played later than originally booked as dinner ran late. I hope to have another event in the area in order to book them again.

Baker's Basement celebrated with The Edna House for Women at our recent ribbon cutting and Campus Open House! From the time we booked them, it was clear they were friendly, professional and easy to contact. They came on time, set up quietly and played all through the evening. Our supporters were thrilled with their live music, and it created just the right atmosphere on a beautiful, outdoor, June night. Adam and Kate were absolutely wonderful and easy to work with. They rolled with the punches when I had to reschedule the event. They sound even better live than in their recordings. Would happily book them for another event. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Adam and Kate played for our small outdoor gathering. They were a lot of fun and provided a great atmosphere. They played a mix of covers and originals and it was perfect. They were very professional, really easy to work with and respectful of social distancing. So glad we had them come out, will definitely look to book them again in the future.

My parents are home bound due to the COVID 19 pandemic, thus we could not have a big party to celebrate their remarkable achievement of 60 years of marriage. Adam and Kate drove 90 miles to come to my parent's house, set up on the patio, and played & sang for 30 minutes while a few family members watched from afar. It was a great surprise and we appreciate Kate and Adam willingness to travel and play, creating a very special memory for everyone.

Katie and Adam drove from Cleveland to Toledo to perform for our region's visitor's bureau and our area partners. They provided a fun atmosphere with their amazing music! They were timely, professional, and provided an incredible service for our event. I will definitely invite them back!

We have a seasonal venue and bring in musicians about six times a year. The Bakers Basement has joined us two years in a row and they are without a doubt one of my favorite musical guests! They’re talented, fun, and quirky and listening to them just makes me happy. We’ve had several compliments from visitors both times, too, and that rarely happens - visitors to our venue obviously enjoy the addition of music but just don’t generally comment on it. I’ll gladly reach out to The Bakers Basement again as soon as I have the need!

I am in charge of booking music for 9 locations of outdoor farmers markets (a total of 185 shows per year) and the Baker's Basement is always my go to. In fact, I am bummed when they aren't available. They are definitely one our favorite bands to book. They bring a great energy and beat with everything that they play. Highly recommend!!

What to Expect
A musical performance by the Baker’s Basement is lively, curious, fun, and tender. The quirky Cleveland based duo mixes a flavorful array of rock, folk, indie, jazz, jam, and funk to create a spirited and eclectic presentation of song including both covers and originals.
Compact and adaptable, tBB combines acoustic guitar, dual vocals, and a small percussive kit, allowing them to set up in most spaces and environments. The duo’s style and instrumentation offers the intimacy of an acoustic performance but with a certain percussive edge.
In a style that they call “Indie Folk Hop,” the duo has played in a wide variety of venues and non traditional performance spaces, and welcomes the opportunity to play for any occasion, be it in a backyard or living room, theatre or restaurant, festival or fundraiser. Their song list includes original, cover, and instrumental music with performances that are typically 1-3 hours, but as long as 6 hours in length.
The Baker’s Basement formed in 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio and offers over 24 years of performance experience between its two members, Kate Dedinsky (Percussion & Vocals) and Adam Grindler (Acoustic Guitar and Vocals). The Baker’s Basement is a lively Cleveland based musical duo that mixes a delicious array of rock, folk, and indie music, topped with shades of jazz, funk, and jam to create a fun and eclectic entertainment experience. The duo formed in 2012, and offers over 24 years of performance experience between the two members. Compact and adaptable, the Baker’s Basement combines acoustic guitar, dual vocals, and a small percussive kit, allowing them to adapt to nearly any performance environment. The duo has performed on both large stages and the most intimate of environments. Be it a festival, backyard, living room, club, market, event space, restaurant, fundraiser--you name it--the band is ready to bring the music.
Additional Booking Notes
The band can provide a sound system for events including all the necessary microphones, cables, and supplemental equipment. The duo can also provide an extra microphone for any announcements or speeches that a guest or host would like to make during a given event.
TBB typically plays shows that include a mixture of original, cover, and instrumental music. By request, the bad can play shows that are purely instrumental. Please send any special requests. We'll do our best to make it happen.
