About
Company Biography — The Audio Distillery
Founded in 2010, The Audio Distillery began as a passion project in the pubs and clubs of Southern California—renting out compact JBL line array systems and providing reliable, great-sounding rigs for local bands and small venues. What started as a weekend hustle soon evolved into a full-scale professional audio company trusted by major artists, festivals, and production teams across the West Coast.
Over the years, The Audio Distillery has earned a reputation for precision sound design, technical excellence, and rock-solid reliability. Our team has supported high-profile live events featuring some of the most recognized names in music and entertainment—where flawless audio is not optional, it’s expected.
We specialize exclusively in professional audio. Our inventory features premium L-Acoustics systems, JBL line arrays, and Pioneer DJ equipment, maintained to the highest standards and deployed by experienced engineers who understand both the art and science of sound. Every event—whether a corporate keynote, live concert, or private production—is approached with meticulous planning, accurate system tuning, and an ear for detail that defines our name.
At The Audio Distillery, our philosophy is simple: great sound creates unforgettable experiences. We don’t just set up speakers; we craft immersive audio environments that bring performances to life.
Today, from our facility in Orange, California, we serve clients throughout Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and beyond—continuing to deliver the same passion for sound that started it all back in 2010.
Additional booking notes
Every event and rental scenario provided by The Audio Distillery is customized to the venue and production requirements. Technical needs vary depending on system size, event type, and duration. The following details outline the general technical considerations and requirements for safe and reliable operation of our audio systems and support equipment.
1. Power Requirements
All systems must have adequate, stable, and properly grounded power.
Our larger L-Acoustics touring systems (K2, Kara II, SB18, KS28, and LA-RAK II AVB racks) require three-phase power, typically 208V or 120/208V service, supplied via L21-30 connectors or equivalent tie-ins.
Smaller systems and stage monitors may run on standard 120V single-phase service, provided the circuits are dedicated and clean (free from lighting dimmer interference).
Power availability and configuration should be discussed in advance for every event.
If venue power is not sufficient or available, The Audio Distillery can provide an appropriate generator and power distribution package, delivered and operated by qualified personnel.
2. Power Distribution & Safety
Power distribution must meet local electrical codes and be operated only by authorized technicians.
All cables and connectors used by The Audio Distillery are rated for professional live event use and maintained to manufacturer and OSHA standards.
A single, consistent power source for the full sound system is preferred to avoid ground loops and ensure system stability.
3. Equipment Location & Site Planning
Equipment placement must be planned in advance to ensure safe, efficient installation and optimal system performance.
Loudspeaker arrays, amplifier racks, and control equipment must be positioned to meet both acoustic and logistical needs, typically including:
Stage or performance area for primary arrays and subwoofers.
Secure front-of-house (FOH) mix position with line-of-sight to the stage.
Designated area for amplifier racks and network distribution (LA-RAK II AVB units or equivalent).
Venue staff or clients should identify load-in routes, cable paths, and secure equipment zones prior to arrival.
4. Load-In and Access
Reasonable load-in and load-out access must be provided for transport vehicles, carts, and cases.
If elevators, stairs, or restricted access points are involved, these must be communicated in advance.
Adequate time must be scheduled for setup, tuning, and teardown to ensure the system is fully tested prior to use.
5. Environmental Considerations
For outdoor events, equipment must be protected from weather exposure.
Coverage areas and environmental acoustics (e.g., reflective surfaces, wind, temperature) may affect placement and performance; adjustments will be made as needed.
The client is responsible for providing suitable shelter or tenting if weather conditions pose a risk to the equipment or personnel.
6. Communication & Coordination
A detailed technical discussion is required before each event to confirm:
Power source and distance to equipment
Location of stage and audience areas
Duration of event and access hours
Equipment placement restrictions or safety rules
The Audio Distillery will provide diagrams or input lists upon request.
7. Responsibility & Operation
All sound systems are operated by qualified Audio Distillery personnel unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Equipment must not be moved or modified by unauthorized persons during the rental period.
For “dry hire” or delivery-only rentals, the client assumes responsibility for proper use and protection of all equipment for the duration of the rental.
8. Summary
Each rental requires prior discussion and coordination to determine proper power, equipment placement, and operational logistics. The Audio Distillery maintains the capability to supply all necessary components — including generators, cabling, and power distribution — ensuring a safe, reliable, and professional sound experience for every client.
