Tasha Hickey

My name is Tasha Hickey and I am the founder of Perfect for Purpose. Perfect for Purpose was birthed out of my experiences in life. I am the adult child of an alcoholic as well as the adult child of a mentally ill person, I do not know who my father is, and I grew up in government housing. For most of my life, I thought that I would be limited by my position and situation in life. I lived my life believing that my purpose was only as great as my current circumstance. Eventually, these thoughts became my reality I was no longer the star student, I transformed into the " troubled child", I began fighting in school, direspecting adults,neglecting my school work, and hanging with the wrong crowd.
It was not until I was traumatically separated from my siblings, due to my mother’s psychotic episode, that I challenged these thoughts and searched for the purpose in my pain. Currently, I am married, I am the legal guardian of my mother, and I have two degrees, a bachelor’s in social work from Morgan State University and a masters in social work from University of Maryland Baltimore. The purpose in my pain was revealed to me. I realized that I am not the only one that has had a rough past, there are other women in this world that had it even harder than I, but I realized whenever I told other women what I had been through and my journey to overcome I felt more and more pain, negativity, and depressive thoughts release from my mind. When I told my story other women had the courage to keep going. When I told my story and how God brought me through other women were drawn to my light and found reason to push through their pain. All along. God had a purpose for me when I thought I was useless, all along God found me Perfect for the Purpose he had in me, all along I was Perfect for Purpose and so are you!
