We had Szeles Comedy Hypnotist come out to a Shriners event. He was easy to work with and very responsive to questions, contracts, etc. He called to confirm prior to the event, showed up early, and was a total pro.
The show was a lot of fun! We had a number of people on stage that had never been hypnotized and did not think they could be....WRONG! It was a crowd honoring our ladies and he asked ahead about the content to make sure he kept an appropriate content for the event. We all had a great time, and he kept it lively and fun!

Comedy Stage Hypnosis in an interactive show, which relies upon audience participation. This means that I will take about 20 or so volunteers from the audience and bring them up onto the stage and, as the audience watches, I will induce hypnosis. My volunteers are the stars of the show; I stress fun and positivity and do not degrade or humiliate anyone. The performance can be tailored to fit pretty much any theme and I always like to personalize my performance whenever possible, by incorporating the client's company function, or theme into the skits. The show can run anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, and all of the shows are shot by my wife, using a professional HD camera, and I provide two FREE DVD copies of the performance to my clients. I know nowadays, folks shoot portions of the show on their phones, usually just a few skits here and there, but I believe that it's wonderful fun to have the full show from start to finish - this way one can share all of the laughs they have had with those who may not have attended, or who were my stars on stage.
SZELES has been performing comedy stage hypnosis throughout the United States and overseas for the past 38 years, developing one of the most sought after one-man shows in the entertainment market today. His playful nature on stage adds to the excitement of his show; together with your guests as the stars, you'll be amazed and delighted with the performance.
Fully insured, stage safety certified, (an impressive 40 years accident/incident free) this seasoned entertainer is affordably priced for a hypnotist of his caliber. SZELES has been performing and teaching stage hypnosis throughout the United States & Europe for the past 38 years, developing one of the most sought after one-man shows today. His performances are unique, hilarious, enlightening and always tasteful; earning SZELES an outstanding reputation for bringing a fresh, fun and purely entertaining approach to hypnotism. The performance is 60 - 90 minutes of pure enlightening fun! Using his California Certification in Hypnosis to entertain, come explore with SZELES the creativity and imagination within the subconscious minds of his participants. During any performance you will be thrilled as SZELES introduces you to James Bond, watch as participants forget their names, greet long lost family members in the audience; listen as Martians converse through a translator, be spellbound as you watch the paranormal goings on in the haunted house, laugh uncontrollably as the mimes fly kites, watch adults act like third graders and much, much more. This is the only show that is as much fun for the audience as it is for the participants!
SZELES has performed for a wide variety of clients from colleges, fairs, festivals, casinos, the USO, to both corporate and private functions. He holds the distinct honor of being the first person to perform a live show at San Jose’s Winchester Mystery House on what other date but Friday the Thirteenth! He recently returned from the United Kingdom where he performed several shows for a quaint local pub located in Nottingham, England reputed to be the oldest pub in the country – known as “The Trip To Jerusalem” founded in 1189AD.
The market is flooded with hypnotists, some are excellent and clearly gifted in their talents, others are “passable’ at best and do a mediocre show; while there are some out there who give hypnosis a bad name because they are just outright awful! As with their experience and skill level being different, so are their pricing fees. Some hypnotists are expensive, some are priced fairly and some undercut the more experienced hypnotist’s pricing. You should be wary of the latter. If you believe in buying on price alone, then SZELES’ act is not for you. He isn’t the most expensive act in the marketplace, in fact he’s competitively priced given his training and over 40 years experience, but Buyer beware, a ‘cheap’ fee does not necessarily guarantee you an unforgettable show. SZELES performs a gender-neutral show, respecting his volunteers' personal space.
Comedy hypnosis is both a visual and interactive show. Your audience needs to be able to both hear and see the show clearly to fully enjoy it. Here are some simple suggestions to help you get the most out of your investment.
STAGE stage setup
Audience members will be sitting in chairs with rows of chairs and people in front of each other. In order to have all audience members be able to see the shenanigans on stage, the stage should be raised high enough for all to see clearly. We recommend that the stage be raised up from the ground by at least 5 feet – this will give all audience members the opportunity to see, hear and enjoy the show.
Other Stage Considerations:
Small Stages:
- Visibility will be a problem if the stage is not raised high enough, or large enough for everyone to see clearly.
- Small Stages do not need stairs if they are 18 inches or less off the ground. People can safely get onto and off the platform if the stage is less than 18 inches high.
- If the platform is less than 10 feet deep and 16 feet wide, the stage must not be higher than 18 inches off the ground for safety and because the area around the stage will also be part of the space used to do the show.
Larger Stages
- Stairs are needed for volunteers to ascend and descend safely. Center-front is optimum, as are side-front.
- A stage should also be 3 – 4 feet off the ground, or the audience will not be able to see clearly.
- The stage must be a minimum of 10 feet deep and 16 feet wide if raised over two feet off the ground.
ON THE STAGE
The chairs for the volunteers should be armless, and placed next to each other without any spacing in between. The chairs should be at least 3 feet away from the back wall (if applicable) for safety reasons, so that the volunteers do not hit their heads on the back wall while under. A small prop table should be placed on one side of the stage, 2 bottles of cold, filtered water should also be provided.
For local shows, SZELES brings his own PA system and wireless microphone. He uses an iPhone and an iPad to control the music and sound effects for the performance which he will plug into the DJ’s equipment (usually for out of town venues). Always give SZELES your DJ’s contact info so that he can contact the DJ prior to the event, to make sure everything will be set up perfectly for your performance!
PLEASE NOTE: Speakers built into the ceiling of convention centers and meeting rooms are NOT acceptable! This type of speaker will always distort and the show will be far less successful if you insist upon relying on them.
Microphones attached to podiums are not acceptable.
Please provide a wireless, hand-held microphone if requested.

Whenever possible I try to personalize the performance by incorporating my clients' company work, or their theme into the skits. I pride myself on doing a very funny, fast-paced clean, politically correct show which leaves my volunteers and the audience laughing and feeling positive about the show.
