September 21, 2022I would highly recommend Suri for any event that requires a pianist / vocals. She was flawless playing piano and singing for my wedding. She was prompt, communicative, and organized. She catered her music to exactly what I wanted - calm happy whimsical musical experience for my guests before the wedding party arrived. She worked really well with other musicians in the ensemble (a violinist and a guitarist) to play a song for my wedding entrance. I felt like I was walking down clouds. Suri also played a worship song, Cornerstone, for our wedding song to be sung at during our ceremony. Everything was on key and pace/tempo was well done. She made my guests feel welcome to sing along. I would gladly have her back at an event of mine in a heartbeat!

September 5, 2022From the beginning stages of hiring Suri for our wedding and letting her know what songs we would like her to play, she was very professional and accommodating. We had a few special songs we asked her to play, and she played them all beautifully and made our ceremony so special and just how we imagined it. I highly recommend Suri - it was a great experience working with her and we are so happy with how the entire process went.

Classical Piano for Wedding Ceremonies:
I play classics like Claire de Lune, Arabesques, Gymnopédie, and Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, as well as cover songs in the style of classical piano. I also can sing very relaxed pop/folk/indie/jazz/classic tunes while being accompanied on piano.
Wedding Kit includes 45 minutes of prelude, 1 hour of the ceremony, and 20-30 minutes of postlude.
Born and raised in Chicago, Suri began piano lessons at the age of four and first began her singing at church and choirs. She later went to Wheaton College Conservatory and spent a semester in École Normale de Musique de Paris to earn her Bachelor in Music, Piano Performance. Upon graduation, she continued teaching classical piano while exploring new vocal genres, such as jazz and began writing her songs.
Her music has been related to Aurora, Lana Del Rey, and Florence + the Machine. It is a fusion of classical piano, electronic orchestral sounds, jazzy vocals, and poetic lyrics. Her voice has spread to prose and poetry, and she continues to explore the arts in various forms as ways of wonder and growth. She is currently studying for her Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Cambridge.
Suri has performed in the US, mainly in Chicago, where she is still based, London, Paris, China, and Hong Kong. She has been a regular with Sofar Sounds and is an Individual Artists' Program Grant (Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs) recipient.
Venues with well-kept and tuned pianos are highly preferred. Otherwise, I can bring my keyboard, mic, cables and a bose S1 pro speaker, which can power a small gym and venues comfortably.
