Sunny danced at my Great Gatsby theme 43rd bday party and brought tears of joy to my eyes. Her eye contact while dancing is unmatched. She engaged with the crowd with a smile non stop, eye contact and moved people out their seats with her shoulder shimmy & wink of the eye. Sunny Haelstorm is a Chicago native performing/teaching artist specializing in burlesque and dance entertainment. Sunny has two decades of dance experience and was a former Joel Hall Dancers company member before they began their burlesque career in 2017.
Whether performing in sold out amphitheaters or for intimate parties this "Supernova FEMMEnomenon" brings the same level of professionalism and radiant energy to all their events. Their dance style is heavily influenced by their extensive training in several genres, most notably: jazz, ballet, modern, hip hop, West African, salsa and West Coast swing.
Haelstorm has been featured in shows throughout the Midwest and regularly performs in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. They frequently perform at Bordel, Newport Theater and Untitled Supper Club while other notable appearances have included House of Blues, The Promontory, Steppenwolf Theater, Logan Center and Auditorium Theater. Sunny was a 2019 cast member of Jeezy’s Juke Joint, a renowned all-Black burlesque festival, and after competing in the 2020 Burlypicks Solid Gold Illinois Regionals they were awarded gold medals for “Best Overall” and “Master of Bump N Grind."
