Melissa Souza is a California-based hairstylist and groomer specializing in story-driven hair for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle projects. A licensed cosmetologist and master-certified extension specialist, she brings over 15 years of experience across editorial, film, advertising, red carpet, and e-commerce. Known for her refined technical skill and collaborative on-set presence, Melissa creates both effortless, camera-ready grooming and stylized looks that elevate a creative vision—supported by a strong focus on texture, continuity, and seamless hair extensions.

She began her career as an editorial and celebrity stylist and previously served as the Fashion Editor for the luxury magazine CVLUX. After opening her own studio, Melissa refined her expertise in extensions, color, men’s grooming, and bridal hairstyling, developing personalized approaches that prioritize both hair health and style integrity.

Her work spans major red carpet and industry events including the Golden Globes, the Oscars, BeautyCon, GLAAD, the Television Academy Honors, and Netflix Awards, in addition to extensive experience across film and live productions.

In addition to her on-set work, Melissa is passionate about education—guiding fellow stylists on beauty brands, product knowledge, and advanced extension techniques. She also participates in speaking panels, sharing industry insight and hands-on expertise with fellow creatives, with a focus on practical application and relevance in today’s evolving beauty landscape.

A California native, Melissa divides her time between Southern and Central California, working behind the chair, styling on set, and leading wedding and event hair teams. With a calm, intuitive approach and an eye for detail, she brings intention and artistry to every project—ensuring talent looks their best on camera and in person.
