The magic I specialize in is called close-up sleight of hand magic; it works very well for events where strolling and interaction with many guests is needed. I also perform a stand up sleight of hand magic show for larger audiences.
I engage the audience with impossible magical feats up close and personal. The magic is interactive and creates a very fun and very memorable occasion.
I have been performing professionally for over 40 years and just recently returned from Las Vegas where I was the resident magician at the very family oriented, Excalibur Hotel and Casino.
Steven amazed our employees with his slight of hand and other tricks. How does he do that? Was a common topic of conversation. He wove some stories in to the tricks and kept us entertained and wanting more. Would dedintely recommend!

Steven was wonderful to work with! He showed up on time and wowed the guests. He was so polite and easy to work with throughout the process.
We had to postpone our event in 2020 due to covid and were finally able to have it when weather got nice this year. Steve was great about being accommodating with rescheduling and was extremely responsive with messaging. We had a small backyard gathering with several families and the magic show was great! The kids and adults were all in awe and the audience participation was fun too. We would definitely recommend Steve for a magic show.
Magician Carlson was able to tailor his show to my kid's love of the magical word, "abracadabra." Over and over, with many of his tricks, he utilized my three-year-old's assistance, and she's been talking about it ever since.

Steven was the entertainment for our apartment community resident Halloween party. He did great with children and entertained the adults as well. Prior to booking, he responded to any questions quickly. He showed up for the event on time and performed the agreed amount of time. He rates were very reasonable and I would highly recommend him!

Steven performed as a strolling magician during our celebration at our annual Day of Caring event. Primary audience was high school students. His magic amazed and entertained students throughout the afternoon, as he strolled around the campus. Students were intrigued and captivated. It was a delight to watch their reactions of laughter and amazement as he performed his magic!

Steven Paul Carlson has been performing his elegant style of Sleight-of-Hand Magic all over the country for over 40 years. He has performed on numerous television shows. He also appeared in the full-length motion picture film Jackpot. Jackpot was produced and directed by Academy Award nominee, John Goodell. Steven performed the numerous playing card, poker chip and coin manipulations throughout the gambling scenes.
From 1999-2001, Steven was the resident close-up magician at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV
Steven is also a nationally recognized portrait artist and illustrator. He has a 5th degree black belt in martial arts and holds numerous national and world championship titles.
Steven also loves animals and is very active in ex-racing Greyhound rescue.
