I am a violinist offering my services as a musician, either as a soloist or with a duo, trio, or quartet, to play at weddings, parties, receptions, and any other event requiring live music. I play primarily classical music, but I can and do play pop arrangements (including pop, rock, some jazz, show tunes, and some country songs) and fiddle music. I offer my services at a competitive price in comparison with other groups in the area. I can meet or exceed your expectations while adding just the right touch to your event, in the most professional manner.

They should expect me to show up on time or early, and to show up with all of the music requested prepared and ready to go. They should expect me to show up dressed professionally, and that I would exude a positive, personal demeanor. They should expect me to be a technically proficient and musically pleasing, and that I would have a wide array of music to play from.
My name is Steven, and I'm a recent graduate of the University of Louisville, where I earned both my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in violin performance. A native of Louisville, I am familiar with this great city and have been serving the area's wedding, party, and other event needs for nearly a decade now. I have played under my own company, and also with Ray Weaver of the Highland Chamber players, Stephen Taylor of SMT music, Anna Blanton of Upbow ensembles, and with the Louisville string quartet.
In addition to performing music in Louisville, I also teach violin to all levels at Steilberg String Instruments, located on Bardstown rd.
In addition to being an experienced part of the music scene here in town, I also have been branching out to other towns. Recently, I won a position in the Owesnboro symphony orchestra, a professional orchestra in Owensboro, KY. I frequently appear with the Evansville Philharmonic and the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, and I am also a member of the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, all professional orchestras in the region.
While at UofL, and even before, I have been on the radio, performed with the Louisville orchestra (side by side concerts with the Louisville Youth symphony), and have taken part in many operas, recording sessions, and special events. I also have become a fixture of the early music ensemble along side Jack Ashworth.
An event planner could expect me to be very professional, on time, and efficient, as well as cooperative and flexible. My playing has been praised by all who have used my services, but I also have gone as far as to create arrangements for particular requests, and I've been flexible with regards to attending event rehearsals, as well as going to places well outside of Louisville. I like to play, and I like to meet new people and provide satisfactory services for their events.
As for my particular services, I have been known to play as a soloist, as well as with a group. I can provide a group of the best musicians I know in the area, and I've played more weddings and other functions as both a soloist and as an ensemble leader than I can remember.
Performing outside can be problematic if the weather is not cooperative. If it is raining, I can really only perform outside if I have substantial cover, as rain can damage my equipment. If it is very windy outside, the wind can cause problems, particularly with the sheet music and the music stands I play off of. This has been more problematic with quartets and other groups.
Even if the weather is good, it's considered to be a gracious host if you can provide some sort of covering for myself or my group, so that the sun doesn't damage our equipment or distract us.
It is good to tell us, it if is a wedding, for instance, who will walk to what, and after who they will be walking. It's also good to coordinate with the pastor when we will play the recessional music (when everyone walks away). There are more details that can be dealt with during discussions about any particular events.
