About the Steve Tarshis Trio:
The Steve Tarshis Trio is a talented group of musicians based in New York City with 30 years of combined experience playing in studio and live performances across the globe. The Trio is comprised of band leader Steve Tarshis, lead guitarist, who has performed with multiple artists and genres, from Bo Diddley to the Joffrey Ballet. He has also collaborated with renowned musicians, including inductees to the Rock and roll Hall of Fame, such as The Mamas and the Papas, Little Anthony and Nora York. He is joined by one of the most in demand rhythm sections in New York. Dave Hofstra on upright bass has recorded and performed with among many others, Marshall Crenshaw, John Zorn, Elliot Sharpe, Bill Frissell, Dan Zanes, and the Waitresses. Peter Grant, on drums, has played with Tom Wopat, Peggy Lee, and has been a stalwart in Broadway orchestras for many years.
Together, they bring a unique and collective sound across an exceptional repertoire of Jazz standards, Latin, Motown Classics and Blues. Their distinctive sound is a cross between the Ventures and Bill Frisell. Their repertoire includes tunes by legendary artists such as Neal Young, Buena Vista Social Club, the Beatles, Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, and classic instrumentals like Sleepwalk, Last Date, and Cast Your Fate to the Wind.
Their genre is diverse and audience broad-based, and they have performed across a wide spectrum of venues, including Goldman Sachs, international events at The United Nations and various clubs, as well as private events across the try-state area.
We are entirely self-enclosed, and can fit in small or larges spaces.
