Along with original compositions, we play a wide selection of acclaimed covers sure to be crowd pleasers. Our group is made up of lifelong musicians, each from widely differing backgrounds (jazz, hard rock, progressive, blues etc), which makes for a unique and memorable musical experience.

November 18, 2019Fronted by the engaging and energetic Philena Carter, Stanley Avenue boldly performs songs you know from a wide variety of genres like the traditional folk song “House of the Rising Sun” to alternative rock superstar Radiohead’s “Creep” to a moving rendition of Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You” which, for my money, is better than the original. The band brings their unique style to these popular hits while seamlessly mixing in their own songs, many of which are bigger hits with repeat audiences than the covers.
After catching them at their regular gig a number of times, I was more than happy to work with them to expose their passion and professionalism to my audience. And hey, not only are they good, but they’re fun too and I will be looking forward to working with them again in the near future.
