I am Sparklehorn — and I bring professional magic, clowning, balloon twisting, face painting, silk fan flow, LED, and spectacular family-friendly fire performances to events across West Michigan and beyond. From neighborhood birthday parties in the Grand Rapids area to festivals, and private celebrations, Sparklehorn Family Entertainment creates unforgettable moments of wonder, laughter, and sparkle for all ages.

## Entertaining for as Long as I Can Remember

I've been entertaining for as long as I can remember. From my earliest days, I was putting on shows in the living room for family and stuffed-animal audiences, always with a deck of cards or a scarf ready to become a magic prop. That natural love for performance was shaped starting in elementary school by my grandmother, who attended clown school and became my first and most influential teacher.

She passed down not only techniques for makeup, character development, and comedic timing, but a deep philosophy of joy and resilience. She taught me that a clown's job is to remind people to laugh, wonder, and connect. Those early performances — school talent shows, friends' birthday parties, and neighborhood gatherings — taught me how to read a room, recover gracefully when something didn't go perfectly, and end every show on a high note. The foundation my grandmother built has supported every evolution of my career, and I carry her lessons with me into every performance today.

## The Fiery Chapter: Steampunk Xena and the Art of Controlled Flame

As my skills and curiosity grew, I explored more theatrical and elemental performance, leading to one of the most thrilling chapters of my journey: performing as Steampunk Xena. This fierce warrior princess reimagined in a world of brass, leather, and steam allowed me to channel strength, courage, and storytelling through the primal power of fire.

Training was a multi-year commitment built on respect, discipline, and rigorous safety. I began with unlit practice to build muscle memory for spins, tosses, and body movement, then progressed to live flame work. I mastered fire eating — safely extinguishing flames in the mouth with proper technique — and fire breathing, creating controlled plumes that lit up the night. I worked with a full repertoire of props: fire fans, fire staff, fire sword, fire umbrella, and more.

As Steampunk Xena, clad in brass goggles, leather corset with gear accents, and flowing metallic skirts, I performed at renaissance festivals, themed events, and night gatherings. The physical demands kept me strong; the creative demands fed my soul; and the audience connection — that collective gasp when flames appeared and the cheers at a clean, dramatic reveal — was electrifying. Every performance followed strict safety protocols: quality equipment, weather checks, spotters when needed, clear audience boundaries, and thorough communication with organizers. That respect for the art and the audience became a core value I carry into every Sparklehorn show. The intense focus required during fire performances also sharpened my ability to stay present and calm under pressure, a skill that now enhances every close-up magic routine and interactive clown bit I perform for families.

While my current focus is family-friendly entertainment suitable for all ages, the fire arts remain an important part of my history. I occasionally incorporate safe, age-appropriate fire elements into larger events or special segments that amaze without overwhelming younger guests. The showmanship, presence, and storytelling forged in those fiery performances make every magic trick, balloon sculpture, and clown routine I do today sharper and more engaging.

## Becoming Sparklehorn

Out of my grandmother's clown school wisdom, the elemental discipline of fire performance, and years exploring magic and flow arts, the persona of Sparklehorn emerged as my truest expression. This light-face clown character features a sparkling pink nose tip that twinkles with every laugh and a majestic glittery unicorn horn that symbolizes the magic and possibility we bring to every event.

As Sparklehorn, I twist balloons into quick animals, swords, and hats that become instant party favors. Face painting transforms faces with professional, skin-safe paints into glittery unicorns, pirates, superheroes, and whatever the guest imagines. I also incorporate day-flow silk fans that create beautiful patterns visible even in bright sunlight and LED props for glowing, hypnotic performances at evening events.

The Sparklehorn persona beautifully integrates all these elements. A magic trick might produce a balloon animal as its reveal. A face paint design might match the balloon a child just received. Stories told during shows echo themes of bravery from my fire days or the joyful resilience my grandmother taught. The result is cohesive, heartfelt entertainment that feels custom-made and layered with meaning.

**Themed Unicorn Princess and Pirate Parties** — Full party entertainment packages that turn events into living adventures. Includes character interactions, themed games and treasure hunts, face painting, balloon twisting, and magic woven into the story. Kids become active participants in the fantasy. 90 minutes to 2 hours.

**Family-Friendly Fire Performances** — Safe, spectacular displays featuring fire eating, fire breathing, and multi-prop manipulation. Choreographed routines include gentle educational moments about fire safety. Designed for larger parties and festivals where a "wow" factor is desired, always keeping younger guests comfortable. LED and silk fan segments can bookend the fire for a complete flow-arts experience.

**Balloon Twisting, Face Painting, and Flow Arts Stations** — Live entertainment and take-home favors. Kids watch balloons transform and choose face paint designs. Day-flow silk fans and LED poi add beautiful ambient or structured visual performances.

**Custom Touches** — Personalized patter, stories about family qualities or achievements, and unique props. We adapt for cultural elements, special needs, or specific requests.

All performances include pre-event consultation, clear proposals, on-time professional arrival, and full setup. We serve the Grand Rapids and West Michigan area with travel options available. Safety protocols and weather backup plans are standard.
