Sounds Of Steel
Overview
Michael Antoine of Sounds of Steel, is a second generation Steel Drum Player. The Sounds of Steel that originated in the Islands of Trinidad n Tobago with a New school twist. I have been playing the drum since the age of 9 yrs old, my father (George Antoine Sr.) brought the sounds of the Steel Drum to SWFL in the late 70's. He started a local band called SWFL Steel Drum Band. My brothers (George Antoine Jr., Harold Antoine) & Myself (Michael Antoine) continue to carry on the Legacy of our father. We are now Stronger than ever with the passion of the Pan in our hearts.

March 12, 2025Sounds of Steel at Boat Show
Sounds of Steel was excellent during our boat show. He kept the music going and we enjoyed feeling like we were on a tropical island. Showed up right on time and was pleasant to work with.

March 10, 2024He was AWESOME!
What a delight. All of our cooperate guests and families loved every bit of our steel drummer. He had all his equipment set up in place and on time. He played, he sang and came dressed for the part. Cudos to him for a wonderful experience. Hope to use him again real soon.

Influences and inspiration
You can say that i was born into the Steel Drum game, my father George Antoine Sr. Who actually started the first Steel Drum band in SWFL during the late 70's. He is no longer taking on any gigs at this time. No worries though, he has left his mark in the music world with his three very talanted sons. George Antoine Jr., Harold Antoine, and myself Michael Antoine. Born & bred with the passion of the pan in our hearts. As you can see i come from a long line of musicians so my influences come from within. At a very young age I was going on and learning the ways of the steel drum music industry. I feel this is what I was meant to do so here I am.
