Their current collaboration results in an intricate mosaic of sound ranging from meditative to lively, depending on a customer's preference.

About

Bette has played classical silver flute since the 4th grade and has studied privately and at The Settlement Music School in Philadelphia. She has played classical, Latin and popular music over the years with local symphonies and bands. Twenty years ago she began playing the Native American Flute and plays in solo gigs as well as with two duos on her Native American Flutes.

Growing up in a family environment of grand opera and classical music, Gary interweaves a blend of flamenco and classical tempos into his own style, original compositions he describes as Classical Folk. He began at age 13 with his first guitar, an $11 Stella, then playing many years later in the coffee house and festival circuit in Melbourne and Phoenix. His music progressed towards writing and developing the sounds of spanish and classical guitar through his own interpretations.

Sound Tapestry was formed in May 2017. Bette and Gary first met when they both joined a Celtic American band, Aine, located in Payson AZ. Both grew up loving classical music so we decided to get together to work on some classical pieces. Soon after we found ourselves moving in alternate directions as well. Bette has been playing Native American flutes for 20 years and enjoys improvising on these flutes. Gary plays flamenco and classical style guitar and when we played together we heard an intricate tapestry of sounds that resulted from our collaboration. We are on a musical journey and we hope we can share our music with you in the future.
