What to expect

Quality piano playing that will keep your guest entertained. Whether the night calls for lively show tunes or light classical background music, the mood will be right for the event at hand. Leslie is happy to chat with guests as necessary, and enjoys being "in on the action."
If the client is interested in hearing specific music (for instance: A Night of 80's Billy Joel) they may feel free to make a request in advance.

About

Leslie Wickham has played piano professionally since he first started in ballet class at the age of sixteen. Since then he has played dinner lounges on cruise getaways, in orchestra pits around North America, in New York City clubs and everything in between. Originally a classical virtuoso, Leslie studied jazz in undergrad before pursuing a career as a Broadway musician. From this experience he has compiled depth and variance in repertoire that make him ideal for a night of variety and popular entertainment.

Leslie grew up in Durham, North Carolina, and started piano at the age of eight. He was an honorable mention in the North Carolina Piano Concerto Competition playing Gershwin's Concerto in F. At UNC Chapel Hill he studied classical and jazz piano, and was a member of the student theater organization. After college Leslie moved to New York City, where he worked as a pianist and music director for theater. Following graduate study at UC Irvine he toured with the Broadway productions of Anastasia and Disney's Aladdin, and subsequently moved back to his hometown, where he now lives and works.

Additional booking notes

If the venue has a piano of its own there will be minimal to no sound requirements.
Leslie's keyboard has speakers, but for larger venues he may need additional amplification.
