Solfire Violin

PROPOSALS: These are currently my favorite gigs to book and I specialize in them! Have a song that means a lot to you both? Chances are I can learn it and arrange it for violin. Songs can be played with a backing track or solo violin. I have a small amp and busking setup that looks clean and unsuspecting for a surprise proposal. We'll have calls to coordinate the moment in advance together, from location to dress code.

LIVE PERFORMANCE COLLABORATIONS: My current favorite collaborations are with dance DJs and sound bath practitioners. I have a gift for being able to feel the musical space and appropriately add melodies in the moment. I'm currently serving Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Chillicothe, and surrounding areas for this offering. Let's see if we're a good match.

WEDDING CEREMONIES: I am currently more likely to book for weddings that are happening within 3 months of booking. I love bringing music to peoples' special day! As a married person, I know how overwhelming wedding planning can be. Allow me to streamline your wedding process. I provide a list of commonly requested songs that you can pick from for each section of the ceremony. What you get in the ceremony package: There's 20-30 minutes of prelude violin performing for the seating of the guests. We will coordinate a cue for the ceremony to start. Then a song for the seating of the mothers/grandmothers with begin, followed by a song for the groom/groomsmen, and then a song for the bride. There's a break in the music for your ceremony flow with the officiant. Some couples request a song in the ceremony for a special ceremonial moment (like unity candles or sand pouring). The music picks back up with the recessional, which includes the "you may now kiss the bride" and about 10 minutes of postlude music while people move to the location of the cocktail party/dinner. Songs requests are accepted, and I am likely able to make them happen for you. You'll have the option of solo violin, or backing tracks playing in addition to the violin.

If your wedding ceremony is outdoors and/or more than 50 people, I may likely recommend my premium enhanced sound package, where I provide my own amplification system. In the event that is does rain, I will also need coverage over myself and my equipment, as my equipment cannot get wet.

I also offer a cocktail hour performance package add-on for weddings.
If you are located within 20 miles, I can be at your dress rehearsal for an additional fee.
I will dress in elegant black unless otherwise requested.

I'm a classically-trained violinist from the age of 5, and have received my Bachelor's Degree in Music from James Madison University. I have sat in section lead positions in every orchestra I have participated in throughout my studies, and have performed at some of the most well-known concert halls, including Carnegie Hall. I have been playing violin as a freelance musician for weddings and city events since my youth.

And though I absolutely love my classical roots, in my adult life I have prioritized exploring other genres and finding my voice as an artist. I have performed my own signature live looping improvisational sets at various festivals and events throughout Ohio. Thanks to my classical roots learning the Suzuki Method, I have an amazing musical ear that has led me to be a sought-out improvisational collaborator for all sorts of musical groups. I have collaborated with bands and artists of nearly every genre, from pop to reggae, dance DJs to hard rock. I have been a sound bath practitioner for the innovative Columbus-based group hOm Sound Baths for the past few years. I have composed and recorded violin parts for released music, and I intend to release my own original music this year under the artist name Christiana Solfire.
