Overview

Soft Rock and Folk.
The customer controls the volume. The music is predominantly a mixture of Soft Rock and Folk as well as original songs to provide a musical backdrop.
I have been playing at the Desert Oasis Coffee house in Rochester for well over 10years for 2 hours/night, I now play alternate weeks on Tuesdays. For the past 3 years I played at the Rochester and Troy Farmers Markets (around 4 hours on each of those gigs.) This shows that I have a good selection of Soft Rock and Folk music to offer, and I am used to being part of the support to an event - not the main reason for the event. I also had the pleasure of playing a solo Folk Music afternoon concert at Rochester Public Library.

Background Music

John provided mellow background music for a dinner party. He came prepared and discussed music choices in advance. He was great for coffeehouse vibe and easy to work with. Thanks John!

Birthday Party Entertainment

John was great! He is very kind and professional man. He came and performed at my facility birthday party and had a great range of music. Very skilled and passionate with his singing and guitar playing. Before performing he made sure that the sound was good for the residents and showed me how to turn the music down if it became too loud for the residents. He was so kind to sing us a couple of extra song and we enjoyed every minute. He even told us a fun story and had a few jokes. It was a pleasure having him come and play. To any activities directors like myself in Michigan I would highly recommend that you book with him if you want to have someone good, professional and talent to perform for your residents. Or if your just someone looking for good entertainment. Either way he is awesome and I will definitely be booking again!

John is an amazing musician

John was absolutely amazing! We had him play at the grand opening of our business, and everyone loved his music. He even visited the space beforehand to make sure he brought the perfect setup. John is incredibly kind, professional, and wonderful to work with. Thank you so much, John — we’ll definitely be inviting you back!

Booking information

Price range: $100 - $200 first hour, $50 - $100 / hr after.

Gig length: 60 - 240 minutes

What to expect

Soft Rock and Folk.
Music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's such as songs made famous by Simon and Garfunkel, Eagles, Tom Petty, Bob Marley, Beatles , Cat Stevens and a few originals that can be thrown into the mix (some of which can be found on Spotify).

Basically I would view myself as playing Soft or more background entertainment rather than Straight up Rock, or Heavy Metal. However - I also have quite a few upbeat numbers to throw into the mix to add a bit of varience.

About

Basically a Folk oriented guitarist that plays Soft Rock Favorites as well as some Folk music and Originals.

I have been playing regularly at a Coffee House for the last 12 years, so I am used to playing "in the background".
I have also played regularly at local Farmers Markets, and played a concert of Folk Music at Rochester Library.
The core value is "The Customer Controls The Volume", I believe that the customer should be able to select the volume level.
I also understand that the customer may wish to modify the volume during a longer performance, due to changes in the environment etc., and our set up will be able to accommodate that. (A rough idea of the venue size and number of people expected would help in equipment selection. )
From the monies I earn playing , I donate to local Animal Humane Societies, as a way of giving back to the community.

Additional booking notes

We require a 110v outlet nearby.
We can provide either a 10 inch Speaker or 8 inch Speaker system, capable of approximately 700 watts music power. This assumes that a larger venue will have it's own PA system that we can tap into.
We request a designated person to direct the volume level to the customers satisfaction.
