Captivating and mesmerizing is the way to describe Tony Smith's brilliance on the guitar. Born on the outskirts of Philadelphia into the bosom of a musically talented family, Tony's desire to play the guitar was ignited while watching his father play in the church they attended.
His father’s tutelage, Tony’s love of music and his immense desire allowed Tony to develop his own unique style of playing, becoming one of the most innovative bassists in the world today. Tony’s phenomenal abilities amazingly transport you to the musical world of his enormous talent and versatility.
Tony has worked and performed with Victor Wooten , Larry Carlton, Groover Washington, Bill Champlin, Ricky Peterson and was featured at the 2017 winter NAMM show in the Tune Bass Guitar booth as well as being featured in Bass Player Magazines June 2014 edition page 22 !
