Overview

Smiley and His Muse is a husband-wife duo, playing fresh arrangements of all the tunes you love from the 1950s through current! Trish sings and play her guitar while Dave plays percussion on a drum pad and an electronic kit with a volume knob! We use a state-of-the-art Bose sound system that allows people to listen, dance, sing along but also converse with friends. Our duo has more of a fun, acoustic feel and is perfect for in-home parties, clubs and any other venue looking for a more intimate, yet upbeat and fun act! We take requests also!

About

Biography Page for Smiley and His Muse

Dave Laughlin (drums/percussion/vocals)
Drummin’ Dave started playing guitar and learned to read music at eight years old but switched to drums in 7th grade when he got what he refers to as “the rock bug.” He was a high school drumline geek and eventually achieved success in the Anderson music scene, first with Looney Bin and most notably with Plain Jane. After taking a 14-year break to play Mr. Mom, Dave played with Pop Rox Trio where he covered drum set parts with his right hand and bongo parts with his left! He is also the go-to “hype” guy for any off-the-wall, theatrical vocals! His current gig is with his wife Trish as part of Smiley and His Muse.

Trish Laughlin (lead vocals/acoustic and electric guitar)
Trish started her musical journey in 5th grade with saxophone and piano. Active with music throughout high school and college, Trish participated in numerous concert bands, jazz bands, marching bands and musicals. She added acoustic guitar to her repertoire when she was 32 and has been playing and singing ever since!
