I’ve done a bit of everything.
Performed on Broadway, National tours, guest entertained on several major cruise lines, rowed and sang on a gondola, sang principal roles with regional opera companies, played and sang cocktail jazz in a lounge, made monster noises for an AAA video game, rocked out like Elvis in a 50s musical, originated roles, won prestigious singing competitions (American Traditions 2011 + Lotte Lenya 2013), taught collegiate acting and voice, studio singing in LA, professional chorus work, commercial voice over, and almost became a Korean pop-opera star, all to make nearly 100% of my living from my voice work since I turned sixteen.
Doug has a BM in Voice from UNLV, a MM in Voice from UCLA and most recently will complete his DMA in Voice with UNLV.
Broadway: Nick in Beautiful. National Tour: Billy in Dirty Dancing. Regional: Cable in South Pacific (Papermill Playhouse), Joey in Most Happy Fella (Goodspeed, Dallas Lyric), Lancelot in Camelot (Pasadena Playhouse), Curly in Oklahoma (Penn Skakes, FCLO), Tony in West Side Story (FCLO), Thief in See What I Wanna See (Blank), Prince in Cinderella (CLOSBC), Chris in Miss Saigon (Moonlight), Curtis in Summer of Love (MTW/Ogunquit).
Doug is the only singer to win both the American Traditions Competition (2011) and the Lotte Lenya Competition (2013).
Doug currently teaches Musical Theater at UNLV and resides in Las Vegas with his wife, Rachel.
