This guy loves his Coral Electric Sitar

Overview

I play an electric sitar/guitar. You would hire me like you would a solo jazz guitarist or classical cellist or harpist.

Gig length: 120 - 180 minutes

What to expect

I primarily provide ambiance for your event. I am usually not the main show.

I provide background music, much like you would hire a Jazz guitarist or perhaps a solo classical musician, like a cellist or harpist.

I keep the volume down to a level where people can carry on a conversation.

About

I play an electric sitar/guitar hybrid. I play soothing background music at conversation level for dinners, restaurants, art show openings, etc.

I can also play more uptempo for outdoor street fairs and art shows.

I am primarily a one-man band. I also accompany myself with a keyboard.
Sometimes I work with a tasteful percussionist.

Additional booking notes

I am pretty much a self-contained unit for most rooms and events.
I would require approximately a 10-ft by 10 foot square area and at least one good quality, grounded, three prong electrical outlet
I would require a 10x10 sun shelter, if playing outdoors. Moderate weather only, please.

If I were hired to play a very large room like a theater or a ballroom, additional sound reinforcement may be required, although I do have a mid-sized sound system myself.

Set list

My music is soft and soothing and primarily a combination of original compositions and improvisation.

I can add a few vocal covers to the mix, such as "Spooky" and "Green Tambourine" and a few more, if really needed.

Influences and inspiration

Ravi Shankar, soft jazz and ambient guitarists, New Age and World Musics and the quiet, more hypnotic music of Pink Floyd.

My music is mellow and soothing and conducive to conversation and dining

Setup requirements

I provide my own equipment. If I am hired for an extra large space, like a theater or Ballroom, additional sound reinforcement may be needed to be provided.
