About

SILVERLIGHT began as a Duo in late 2016, when Eric Luico approached Phil Kurtz about a recording project. Eric was creating videos for Youtube at 360Studios in Houston Texas and wanted to record Baker Street. Eric provided the Saxophones and Phil covered the Guitar, Bass, Drums, and vocal tracks..

Shortly after they began playing some acoustic shows at Church Festivals, Private Events, Chick Fil A's and Potbelly Sandwich shops then recruited a second Saxophone to become a trio. At that point it became evident that there was a need for additional players.

In Fall of 2017, they recruited a drummer and bass player and in 2017, SILVERLIGHT was officially founded. The original line up was Eric Luico, Alto Saxophone, Phil Kurtz, Vocals and Multi instrumentalist, Chris Holhummer, Tenor Saxophone, Andrew (Drumboy) Brown, drums, and Gerald Eckman on Bass. At the end of 2017, with only a few shows under their belt, Lead Guitarist, Strider was added and Chris left the band to attend Texas A&M University.

There were several personnel changes during 2018 and the band still managed to do Festivals and Concerts, while refining their sound and stage presence.

After a couple of drummer and bassists came and went, two truly talented individuals joined the group in early 2019. Paul Roland on Bass. and Rusty Bunting on Drums.

2020 saw the return of our original Bass Player to the lineup and the introduction of our new Drummer, Daryl Aaron.

Late in 2021 the band began recording a demo with the help of Will Velasquez as our guest lead guitarist. Demo tracks will be available on this page in 2022.
