The silhouettes take merely a few minutes to cut. The portrait is then mounted on an acid free card stock to make the ideal personalized party favor.
For bigger parties or shorter bookings, Candice works with trained assistants who can help speed the process of silhouettes. The artist Candice does all the cutting, the assistants paste the portraits leading to more portraits for your guests.
Generally, the client provides a table and chairs at the venue for the artist, although this can be provided for an extra fee if needed.

For a special treat, Candice can provide custom background cards personalized for your event. For a Wedding, get the name the bride and groom and the date inscribed on the background card on which the silhouette is mounted. For kids parties, Candice can provide a pick your own paper option which allows kids to pick from a variety of colorful card stocks as the backdrop for their creative silhouettes.
Candice started cutting silhouettes and drawing portraits in the late 1980's, as a teenager, working at Geauga Lake and Sea World of Ohio. She continued working as a portrait and silhouette artist through college until she went to work in the Animation industry in Hollywood, CA. After many years of only cutting silhouettes for family and friends, Candice took up the art again professionally. In addition to private event bookings, Candice periodically does public events in the Los Angeles area.
We ask for a table, 6ft is great, and 2-3 chairs depending if you book artist only or artist and assistant.
We need adequate lighting so we can see what we are doing. Place us near an outlet so we can plug in a lamp if needed.

Candice was trained by the Kaman's Art Shoppes over 20 years ago. She is strongly influenced by their style as well as by the artist Wally Spatz who cut silhouettes in her hometown of Cleveland. As a silhouette animator, Lotte Reineger is a huge influence on Candice.
