Overview
Hello, my name is Shawn Pennington. I am a guitarist, singer, and songwriter. I typically play solo acoustic music with a harmonizing pedal to add harmonies to my voice. I have a large repertoire of original music and of cover songs ranging from the 1960s to the early 2000's which allows me to play either soft rock background music or epic acoustic life changing rock tunes. I'm easy to work with, flexible, reliable and a great asset to have on your team. I also perform professional walk-around magic tricks for guests while they are arriving or during music breaks. Feel free to reach out any time to learn more about me and what I can provide for your event!

Gig length: 30 - 240 minutes
What to expect
I can perform music for up to 4 hours.
I can perform Walk-Around Magic for up to 3 hours.
For music: I can play the smallest venue with minimal gear and I can play larger events bringing a PA system with up to 4 speakers if needed.
For the time being, I play solo, typically acoustic guitar and I sing and use a harmonizer pedal for vocal harmonies giving it a nice full sound for just a solo artist.
I play all types of rock music from classic, to Indie, to Folk, to Pop, to Alternative.
I can bring fun lighting and other items to create a special atmosphere.
For Walk-Around Magic I simply walk around the venue and perform magic tricks for different groups of guests. This is a great ice breaker for guests and can create memorable moments and special moments.
About
Hi, I am Shawn. I would say first, I am a song writer, then a guitarist/vocalist, then a magician. My passion is creating and performing.
I have a diverse background. I was an athlete, a fisher, a backpacker, a hunter, a martial artist, an avid reader, an engineer etc. But my main passion was always creating and building something. I used to physically build all kinds of things as a kid and once I learned I could build and create music my obsessive nature took off running. I have fully written about 60 songs and have about 100 in the hopper. Its always exciting to share my personal creations with others. I also learn and play a good amount of covers songs because there are so many great songs out there and each song teaches you something. I'll put a list of some of the covers I perform in the Set list section. Needless to say, I have enough material to fit almost any kind of gig.
I have always been very reserved so performing live started off as quite the challenge. I was the kid in class that hardly ever spoke a word. So it was quite a career path to choose to pursue. But I took the bull by the horns and just went for it, becoming a little more comfortable with every performance I did. Then, because I couldn't stop there, I got into performing magic tricks. I was always enamored by people like David Blaine, bringing smiles and wonder to people every where with just a deck of cards. With already having finger dexterity from playing music, I was able to pick up magic pretty quickly. I have enough material to do just Walk-Around-Magic for a few hours or I can combine and do magic before or after a musical performance.
I'm very easy going and flexible. If I get hired for a gig, I do my best to make everyone involved have a great time.
