Hi! Im Julie, the owner and lead face painter at Scarlet's Smiley Faces.

My journey into face painting started with my daughter, Scarlet. When she was 8 years old, she received her first face-painting kit and immediately fell in love with it. She started painting faces for fun at playgrounds around town and eventually began painting at children's fairs, markets, and community events. I helped her along the way, assisting with her growing business and learning the ins and outs of face painting right alongside her.

As Scarlet's Smiley Faces grew, my role in the business grew too. When Scarlet began exploring other interests, I took on more of the day-to-day business and became lead painter. Face painting has always been something special we've shared, and working together has been a wonderful bonding experience for both of us. Now, as Scarlet is becoming more involved again, its exciting to see us continuing to build the business together in a new way.

I have a degree in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I specized in children's book illustration. I have always loved drawing, painting, and creating colorful characters, so face painting feels like a natural way to combine art with something that brings people joy.

Today, I'm the lead painter at Scarlet's Smiley Faces, and I'm fortunate to have a wonderful team that helps make our events possible. Scarlet is becoming move involved as a top assistant, and we also work with other talented painters and assistants depending on the size and needs of each event.

We have had the opportunity to paint for a wide variety of organizations and events including Rock City, Google, EPB (Electric Power Board), McDonald's, and Abba's House Trunk-or-Treat, as well as many local festivals, schools, churches, birthday parties, grand openings, and community celebrations.

Working with such a variety of events has given us experience with everything from intimate birthday parties to large events with hundreds of guests. For larger events, our team works together in an efficient assembly-line style so we can serve as many guests as possible while still creating fun, colorful, high-quality designs. For smaller events, we have more time to slow down, interact with each guest, and accommodate individual requests and themes.

I’m grateful that what started as my daughter’s childhood hobby has grown into something I genuinely love doing. Face painting has allowed me to reconnect with my artistic side while meeting so many wonderful families and becoming part of their celebrations.

Setup & Arrival
We provide our own table and chairs, and for outdoor events we can also supply a 10x10 tent with a fun star-themed photo backdrop.
We request arrival 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to the event start time to allow for proper setup.

Service Style
For larger events, we bring a team of face painters and work in an efficient assembly-line format, allowing us to create beautiful designs while keeping lines moving quickly.

Service Time
All bookings include a minimum of 2 hours of service. Additional time and additional artists are available upon request to accommodate larger guest counts.

Professional Products
We use only professional-grade face paint and cosmetic-quality supplies for safe, vibrant, and long-lasting designs.
