May 22, 2019I hired Saxton Photography in March 2019 for my 50th wedding anniversary and a surprise 70th birthday party for my husband in May 2019. My husband had never had a birthday party his whole life and a 50th wedding anniversary only comes once in a lifetime. The photography was very important record of a momentous occasion in our lives and the lives of our family. I communicated with Wayne Saxton by e-mail, Gigsalad and phone conversation. He sent an e-mail 6 hours before the venue claiming he did not know the address of the venue and assumed the event was cancelled. However, the name and address of the venue was clearly stated on the contract we both agreed to and for which he received payment. I now have to hope that friends and family captured enough pictures to try to create some type of record. Mr. Saxton your excuse in my opinion, was dishonest attempt to get out of a job that for what ever reason was no longer desirable to you. What is most disappointing is that I explained to youhow important this day was to me. You seem to understand that but it is apparent that you had little regard for me as a client. If you really wanted to fulfill your obligation all you had to do was go to or call Gigsalad look on your page and all the information about this event was in plain sight. What ever your true motives were in not keeping your word, you will have to live with that. My disappointment goes beyond the money(which was returned by Gigsalad) but the lack of professionalism on your part. I hope you will do better in the future and that this review will be a wake up call to you that what you do is not just a job and that you will learn how to treat people better in the future. P.S the 1 star rating is required for this app but my true rating is 0 stars

Good morning Maria,
I appreciate you providing your side of the story and posting in my review section. That said, I did not have the venue for your job, I also am new to the gigsalad framework and will take responsibility for any oversight I made. To be clear, your event was held on this past Saturday, May 18th, 2019 at 8 pm. When I realized I did not have the venue location, I promptly called you on the number provided by you to discuss the venue location. I called on Friday, May 17th several times leading up to 8:44 pm and left you a message to get the location of your venue and never received a return call. On Saturday, I called you at 10:42 am, texted you at 3:04 pm and 5:35 pm to get an answer to the location of your event. You never responded, also, I messaged you on the 18th as well through gigsalad and you never responded. It was apparent by 5:35 pm you canceled because the gigsalad messager app showed you received and read my messages asking for the venue location, but you never responded. I would also like to clear up further confusion regarding email, we have never communicated by email outside of gigsalad.
Finally, I contacted gigsalad the day of your event to inform them of the situation and offered to refund the money ASAP. I received a call on Monday from gigsalad to discuss the matter, and it was at that point I was able to refund your deposit because of the lack of communication and possible oversight.
As for your event, I hope it was a wonderful event and you enjoyed renewing your love and 70th birthday for your husband. I have been in business for 20 years capturing memorable moments for my clients and never experience such a problem.

My process includes the followings:
- Discussing requirements for your photo shoot, wedding or event
- Submit contract and detail agreed upon requirements
- Provide you with a welcome package that provides general information regarding your photography session (do's and don'ts). If your event is a wedding, I will provide you with preparation information for photographing your wedding.
- 50% deposit, remainder due at delivery of the final product.
