Kelvin is unbelievable!

I knew I wanted a live musician to enhance the DJ at our wedding reception and Kelvin was the perfect guy for the job. He is incredibly talented and joined in on whatever song came on. I was amazed every time he started playing. He played beautifully throughout our dinner service and interacted with guests on the dance floor. Everybody absolutely adored him. I could not thank Kelvin enough for making our reception so memorable.

About

Kelvin Evans is a saxophonist with no limits when it comes to his sound or his passion. Originally from Marion, Alabama, the 39-year-old musician has been influenced by just about every genre of music out there, helping him develop a style that’s both unique and soulful. An up-and-coming saxophonist, Kelvin loves his music almost as much as people love his BBQ.

While he stays true to himself, Kelvin credits artists like Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Najee, John Coltrane, and Grover Washington Jr. as major influences. In his own words, “I want people to feel every note I play—that’s why I play with so much passion.” That passion, along with his humble and down-to-earth personality, is what audiences connect with most.

A military brat, Kelvin traveled all over the U.S., gaining the versatility to play with a wide range of musicians and singers. His love for music started early—listening to his uncle’s and father’s records—until an elementary school teacher told him, “You have big hands, you should play the saxophone.” The rest was history.

Now based in St. Louis, MO, Kelvin performs around the city with The All-Purpose Band and continues to support and inspire young musicians to stay connected to music. A talented performer with heart and soul, Kelvin Evans is an artist you don’t want to miss. 🎷

Just a heads up—I’ll need a little space to set up my gear. I use professional speakers that can get loud, so it’s best if they aren’t right next to seated guests or tables. I’ll also need a table for my equipment. This just helps keep everything safe and lets everyone enjoy the music. 🎷
