What to expect

My performance for your event is tailored specifically to mood and ambience you wish to set for your guests. From a cool, breezy sound on familiar songs we know as standards - think Sinatra, Bennett, Nat KIng Cole, Diana Krall - to the bouncy, swinging feel of New Orleans my music can be the life of the party or a comforting background elegant sophistication.

Performance space requirements are minimal as I only bring one small PA speaker for the backing tracks, which can either sit on the floor or on a speaker stand. Other gear includes a stand to hold my iPad and one or two saxophones, depending on the song list requested. Easy set up and clean up.

About

Greg Howard is the leader of Dunedin Music Society’s own Rhythm Kings Jazz Orchestra and the Three O’clock Band at the William Hale Senior Activity Center in Dunedin, FL. He is proud to be a fourth-generation Floridian and to have been a performer with the Dunedin Concert Band for more than ten years.

Greg studied music and saxophone performance at Florida State College at Jacksonville (formerly known as Florida Junior College) and the University of North Florida. He has performed with local music ensembles and working bands in Jacksonville, Gainesville, and the Tampa Bay area. You may also hear Greg performing on saxophone, flute, and clarinet with professional big bands and show bands in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota area, as well as performing as a solo artist for private events.

Additional booking notes

Performance space requirements are minimal as I only bring one small PA speaker for the backing tracks, which can either sit on the floor or on a speaker stand. Other gear includes a stand to hold my iPad and one or two saxophones, depending on the song list requested. Easy set up and tear down.

Influences and inspiration

I love the music of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall and other singers. Jazz influences include Dave Brubeck and his saxophonist Paul Desmond. And of course, Stand Getz and his wonderful lyrical playing style.

Setup requirements

Access to a standard 110 power outlet is nice, but not required. My PA speaker is battery powered.
