Savannah Lee

Dance bio:

Savannah started her professional training with Atlanta Ballet. At age fourteen, she reached the top of the pre professional division, dancing corps de ballet roles with the company. Her favorite role with them was the Shepherdess’s Lamb (Marzipan) in Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker. Savannah was one of twelve Americans to attend The Royal Ballet in Covent Garden, London the summer she studied. She furthered her training spending summers with American Ballet Theater, Kirov Ballet Academy, Washington Ballet, CPYB, and English National Ballet. Savannah has danced professionally with Nashville Ballet’s second company, Brooklyn Ballet, Nomad Contemporary Ballet, Portland Ballet, Harvard Ballet Company and Boulder Ballet. She performed numerous Balanchine works including the Russian Girl in Serenade, the first principal pas de deux in Western Symphony, the Pizzicato variation in Raymonda Variations, the Butterfly Soloist in Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Balanchine’s Snow Scene. She has performed classical Principal and Soloist roles of the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, the Autumn Fairy in Cinderella, Bride of Dracula in Dracula, Taglioni in Grand Pas de Quartre, the Dew Drop Fairy, Adult Clara, Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker. She was additionally the lead in Boulder Ballet’s New Horizon’s, dancing the Principal role of the Moon in the Sun and Moon pas de deux in “One of Us” choreographed by ABT’s Claire Davison.

Teaching and choreography:

She continued sharing her passion, teaching for Manhattan Movement Arts Center, Portland Ballet, Boulder Ballet, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre and Urbanity Dance. Additionally being an aerialist, it opened opportunities to teach dance workshops for Simply Circus and Circus Maine. As a choreographer, she has created for Portland Ballet, Boulder Ballet, Harvard Ballet Company and her contemporary dance company, Lightning Dance Collective.
