Sara Guirado, Belly Dancer

To present my work and the work of my dance company.

Training

The teacher, choreographer and dancer Sara Guirado, with its own school in Valencia, Spain ("Sara Guirado Dance school"), has dedicated to the oriental dance since 1999. Formed initially with great masters like Nesma in "Reda" style or students of Amir Thaleb in Argentinian Style. She has forged yet very distinctive style thanks to an unbroken personal research in many fields. Currently combines her regular trips to Egypt, in order to further research on folklore, zaar and Sufi ceremonies, with other disciplines such as flamenco and Indian classical dances. She currently studies arabic percussions.

Dancer

As her particularly noteworthy qualities, its excellent technical training, it is necessary to add her admirable ability to improvise (acquired very early thanks to the habit of acting with live musicians) and enormous versatility, as Sara excels in a wide range of records ranging from Arab folklore to contemporary oriental mergers, through the zaar and spin Sufi specialty that stands out as one of the few women dancers who practice it. Since its inception, has also been a reference in the use of elements, as shown by its management recognized double veil, cane or sword. She nowadays has the most visited video of bellydance on youtube of the world with more than 35 millions of visits.

Shows and performances

From a young age, Sara has acted throughout the national territory. Its actions include participation in the "Festival de las Tres Culturas de Murci", the opening of the "Juegos del Mediterráneo" in Almeria, the "Festival Db de Burjassot", the "XXIII Festival Internacional de Folklore de Alcorcón" "Belly Sharq Al Andalus", the "Gala Oriental en Madrid" and the International Festival "7 sois 7 luas" held in Cadiz. She was part of the cast of the musical "La vuelta al mundo" during 5 years. Her career has also achieved international renown, having been hired on numerous occasions from abroad as a dancer, choreographer and also to give workshops and intensive personalized training. Notably presentation at the Festival "Salamat Masr" in Egypt and also the great reception given to the public in Brazil with their courses and the show "Uma noite de Dança com Sara Guirado" and received great support from the chain REDE GLOBO TV from different areas which were issued for the dissemination of their activities. Some of the most important shows were “Cabaret Oriental” in Geneve (Switzerland), in Seychelles, in “Fete de la musique” in Switzerland, in Southafrica, Nice (France) and Thailandia between others.

Participation in Companies

In 2004 she founded one of the first dance companies in Spain, "Troupe of Sara Guirado" (before called Aromas de Oriente), of which she is director. It is entirely made ​​up of students from their own school or selected casting, this functioning as a pedagogical tool for promoting and fostering constant.

As co-director, choreographer and dancer, in turn participates in various formations as "Flamenco Oriente, "Tárabe" and "Aromas de Tárabe", centered the latter in the mixing of music and belly dance rhythms of other latitudes. Also part of "Hamesha Indian Dance", a company that represents Indian culture roots.

Actually she is percursionist and dancer in the group "La Banda del Pepo" .

Choreographer

She has worked as a choreographer in some musicals events. Her most representative creations are "Harakat", with the participation of Mohamed el Sayed and comprising 4 scenarios, a folk environment, one Andalusi, one mystic and another current environment. In her next creation "Harem Stories" she produced an innovative contemporary oriental dance show with a background of fighting for the rights of women.

Teacher

After more than 15 years serving as dance teacher, her classes have been acquiring progressively refined and unmistakable character. Her involvement with ongoing research and development has led to personal development and new methods through which their students acquire a great body control that allows them to enhance skills and usual techniques. In addition to teaching at all levels, thereby committing to the development of each of her students, conducted annually by the "Professional training in belly dance", course which elaborates on rhythms, folklore, history, music, improvisation and elements.

She has been interviewed and has performed in various international media as Rede Globo from Brasil and in Spanish Television as Tele 5 and Antena 3, the newspaper "El Mundo" and "Radio Nacional de España" among others.
