Santa's Coming!

Most people invite Santa for a visit to delight their children, to whisper their Christmas list in my ear and to get those treasured photographs with me. I certainly work hard to bring the full character of Santa alive with each visit.
But I also have many rich stories to tell, some traditional stories, and others that encourage adult and children's willingness to be generous secret gift givers themselves by looking for opportunities to bless others. It is something everyone can do.
Santa has spent way too many a night in the cold frosty air to have a concert voice, but he loves to sing and lead others in song of celebration and cheer.

The man St Nicholas is very important to me because he was a man who loved God and had great generosity and love toward others, particularly the poor and downcast. It is how my wife and I have lived my most of our lives. Our home has kept a porch light on and a door ready to welcome any who came by, and over the years, we have hosted many, from places like the Ukraine, China, Japan, Trinidad, England and other places, some for many months at a time.
In 1982, we began adopting children, many with special needs and handicaps. In all, our family grew to 15 children.
So it is that I was invited to become a Santa, a person not too much unlike St. Nicholas, a man full of grace and generosity and love for children and families.

Each visit is different depending on the family and setting, so I work each one to bring the best Santa I can do. If I need special props, I ask for them ahead of time or bring them with me as necessary.
I have a large gift bag which I often stuff with presents provided by the host to give out to children and adults as specified.
