The Santa Tom experience is flexible depending on the needs of the client, the space available and the age range of the audience. Typically Santa makes a grand entrance, ideally from outside. Then Santa will "meet and greet" the children briefly and proceed to Santa's throne where each child has an opportunity to talk privately with Santa. There can be stories and Christmas carols along the way. Santa then makes a graceful exit to his waiting chariot, (optionally) a vintage convertible Miata driven by Mrs. Claus.
Santa Tom got his chance to sit in the big chair in 2021, when a fellow Santa's sleigh broke down and he stepped in to save the day for the "Cookies with Santa" event at the local community center.
I started in the Santa community when I was Santa's Elf in 1968 at the Winter Wonderland in Detroit, Michigan. I always wanted to sit in Santa's chair!
When I retired from my life as a graphic artist, I grew my hair and beard and began to resemble Santa. Since then I've been helping children come to know Santa and provide a well-rounded portrayal.
It is my great privilege to bring Santa to all, but especially the young children who are experiencing the magic for the first time.
