January 20, 2026We had the most wonderful experience with Santa! He showed up on time, was amazing for all of the pictures (this was for my dog salon so the pictures took extra time and a special Santa to get the dogs camera ready), and was so friendly. We will be using him EVERY year. Book him. You will not be disappointed.

Overall santa was great, he was on time, polite and Santa was good. Everyone enjoyed his company. But...
When it came to booking, finances, and expectations, the experience was very different.
I requested a booking for my wife’s birthday and made it very clear that my absolute maximum budget was $150 for one hour of service. We agreed in writing on the date, time, and cost: $150 for one hour, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
At Santa’s request, payment was to be made via Zelle. I explained that I was only comfortable sending half upfront and the remaining half upon arrival, which we both agreed to. The second half was paid immediately upon his arrival, bringing the total paid to $150.
Everything went well until about halfway through the booking. Around 5:30 PM, Santa stated that he had to leave. I politely informed him that it had only been about half an hour. His response was, “I don’t know what time it is.” I showed him my phone, which displayed 5:32 PM.
Because the event was for my wife’s birthday and I did not want to disrupt or create an uncomfortable situation, I let it go at the time, even though only about half of the agreed-upon hour had been completed.
Later, I sent Santa a Zelle request for $75, explaining that only half of the agreed service time was provided and politely asking for a refund for the remaining half hour. I also reminded him that we had agreed on $150 for a full hour, which was documented in our messages.
I received no response and no refund. A few days later, I sent a second message through GigSalad, explaining the situation again. While I could see that the message was marked as seen, I did not receive any reply or refund.
I understand that Santa may have had other engagements or priorities that required him to leave early; however, none of this was communicated or explained to me at any point. Because of this lack of communication and follow-through on the agreed service, I am personally disappointed in Santa South Texas’ professionalism and integrity. Unfortunately, in this situation, Santa was a bit naughty this year. Lesson learnd, I would not recomend booking with this Santa South Texas (from New Braunfels).

December 26, 2025Santa arrived on time and was excellent with the entire family! He was patient with all the kids, young and older! We loved taking pictures with him. Before he left he reminded us of the reason for the season which was so impressive to us. We will be booking him again for sure.

He was very professional and incredibly kind throughout the entire event, making each child feel important and valued. With patience and genuine warmth, he created a magical experience that our community will remember.

Who is this South Texas Santa? There’s a lot that could be said – but here’s just enough to stuff in your stocking: ‘Brother Rick’ Bartlett is a retired Pastor, having served with congregations in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas for the past 45 years. He has been a resident in the South Texas area for some 30 years. Though officially retired – he continues to serve the Lord and others by regularly teaching Sunday School, singing in church choir, and working part-time at a local funeral home.
During his years of ministry, he has donned the bright red suit on multiple occasions – delighting the hearts of others through local schools, businesses, etc. Beyond his duties in ministry and the occasional ‘Claus’ appearances, he has been very active in the communities in which he has served – taking-on various roles through drama presentations, volunteering at local food banks, serving as Police Chaplain and being called upon to officiate at weddings and numerous funeral services for many who do not have a church home or pastor. ‘Brother Rick’ loves to tease and play and seeks to ‘put a grin on every chin’ as much as possible. On certain occasions, he is able to make special appearances arriving in his 1959 “Red Sleigh” Thunderbird. It’s obvious that our South Texas Santa likes toys, too!
