Overview

Mrs. Claus and I attended the premiere Santa school in the country; the Charles M. Howard Santa School in Midland, MI. We regularly attend Santa conferences & workshops to hone our skills and work on fresh ideas. Good baritone speaking voice for radio and possible voiceover work. Can sing as well though not professional. Storytelling with(and without) puppets/props. I also work with Mrs. Claus as the occasion may require. In 2022, I worked 3 weekend Christmas festivals with my Mrs. Claus which were extremely well-received by the children. I also worked a high volume Santa job 2 nights a week(5pm-10pm) at the Lebanon Dancing Lights. Additionally, I worked home and virtual visits.

The best there is!

This was my family’s second time using Santa Rob of Nashville. Back in September, my family experienced an unexpected and tragic loss of our youngest child. I was unsure of whether or not to go forward with this family tradition but after speaking with Santa Rob, I knew we were in the right hands for the show to go on. He presented all the families in attendance with an ornament that honored our special girl and did an additional emotional presentation of an ornament unique to our family. He was choked up while doing this and so warm and professional with all of us. I couldn’t recommend him more. Thank you Santa.

This gathering was both easy and very difficult. Losing a child so young as the Pinheiro’s have(just a few weeks ago-September) is a gut-wrenching for any family so impacted. They were surrounded by loving family and neighbors who have gone above and beyond to share in their grief and love them so well through this most difficult time. Cherie reached out to me, revealed what had happened and their decision to continue their Christmas party plans but wanted me to know there would be many additional children due to the party now embracing all who have been such good friends during these weeks. She was so kind to consider Mrs. Claus and I in all this. We love this family and were honored to bring a more sensitive spirit of Christmas to the Pinheiro party; a tradition they wanted to continue, after much soul-searching, for the children’s sake.

Santa Clause Visit for our Christmas party

Santa was amazing and brought joy to our grandchildren. He brought two books to read and kept the children engaged as he turned each page. Would definitely recommend.

Loved Santa Rob & Mrs Claus!

Santa Rob and Mrs Claus were the perfect addition to our Christmas Party! They were so sweet to all the children. They let them sit on their laps and talk to them, they read books, and Santa sang a song with the book! The kids were so excited when they walked in the door!! Thank you Santa Rob & Mrs Claus for making the evening so much fun!

What to expect

Top notch outfits to present visually the wonder of Santa at work, at play, at table in order to facilitate memorable photos and memories.
This Santa and Mrs. Claus sing all the familiar Christmas carols, work with puppets, tell stories of work at the North Pole, read stories of Christmas from years past and from around the world, answer all pertinent Christmas questions.
We are outfitted to do events such as Breakfast with Santa, Cookies with Santa, Christmas in July and/or other summer occasions where Santa in a throwback swimsuit or even a baseball uniform would be appropriate.
I am not opposed to allowing parents to use their camera phones to take as many pictures as they wish. The exception to this would be if a professional photographer has been contracted with to handle all the Santa photos. No selfies or parent picture taking would be allowed in that case.

About

My wife and I are retired. I am a veteran and retired after 30 yrs combined service in the Coast Guard & CG Reserve. Am also retired after 20 yrs delivering the mail for the USPS. My wife has 40 yrs experience as an ASL Interpreter and as the after school programs director with a local non-profit serving the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in Nashville TN.
Mary and I just celebrated our 46th anniversary in April. We have two grown children: Adam(44) and Mary Katherine(42). We are blessed with 9 grandchildren. Adam gave us 4 boys and 1 girl; Mary Kate 2 boys and 2 girls. Everyone lives in Middle Tennessee; a real blessing from God.
My interest in portraying Santa came out of my letter carrier experience delivering packages to porches in December those many years. I was hooked when the preschoolers would come to the door with their parent and see my beard(much shorter then), my Santa hat….then the magic would happen. Their little eyes would get big and you just knew what they were thinking at that moment. Those were moments that captured my heart. Seeing the wonder in the eyes of those children hooked me, there’s no doubt.
I donned the Santa hat and wardrobe as an unpaid volunteer about 4 years and will now enter my second full season as a professional. I see my role as one who represents the true spirit of Christmas and seeks to express to all the importance of showing love, compassion, acceptance and willingness to share with others at the time of year set aside to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Additional booking notes

Influences and inspiration

Many "Santas" have come before me, on screen and in real life. The attraction to doing Santa comes out of experience as a Letter Carrier for the Postal Service delivering Christmas mail and packages for 20 years during the last 5 years of which I served as a volunteer Santa for my post office's staff, for neighbors, for my church. My favorite movie Santas range from Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle in "The Miracle on 34th Street" released in 1947 and Tim Allen as Scott Calvin/Santa Claus in "The Santa Clause" of recent years. Pastors and youth leaders at the different churches I have attended with their self-sacrifice and love for those in their charge have shown me the way to be the kind of Santa I need to be for all the children out there who come to me for their annual Christmas photos and wishlists.
Santa should show a finely tuned sense of humor as well as a heart of compassion. He should possess the qualities which will enable him to impress the little ones with the importance of giving over receiving; of kindness and sharing over selfish wants; of love and compassion over stinginess and cold heartedness.
While the men(and women) who portray Santa are all fallible beings whose hearts(generally speaking) are in the right place, Santa represents the spiritual qualities laid out in Scripture for how men should love one another as Christ loves the church. Love, service, compassion, mercy, grace. These are all actions that apply when speaking of Santa and his love for all the children of the world. God wrote the rules and Santa works according to those same principles. I suppose I would have to say that the Lord Jesus Christ is my biggest influence for how Santa should comport himself and interact with the children sent his way each Christmastime.
