He was really great with kids and kids at heart. He really tried to connect with each person. We had a traditional Santa in chair as part of the event and he was great at doing different poses and suggesting photos. For another part of our time he did room visits for seniors who just weren’t up to the event. He was so kind to all of them and brought a lot of joy.

Santa Charles was on time, great with the kids, and really made the most of his time with us. He was thorough and thoughtful and even called ahead to check in on the details. I loved how he maintained control of the crazy bunch of kids (and parents). Everyone, including the adults, had a blast. If you're looking for a Santa, look no further!

What to expect
Santa has a wide range of experience working with kids at Christmas and can be accommodating to almost any family gathering, tree lighting, corporate event or cookie tasting (my favorite) that you may have.
On a typical family visit, Santa will get the entire group to sing songs, read The Night Before Christmas and then its question/answer time...Where does Santa Live? What are the names of my reindeer? Is it hot or cold in the North Pole? then it's on to the gifts! In 33 years, the only complaint I've had is that they have to wait all year to see Santa!
About
I first preformed as Santa at a small grocery store in the small town on Kensington in the Berkeley Hills. I was a Bagger and had just turned 16 when on Christmas eve the owner of the store said I could bag groceries for the next 8 hours or I could dress as Santa for 2.5 hours, get paid for 8 hours and go home after I was done as Santa...and my life with Santa just grew from there. The best part of this job is the older I get, the better (or more authentic) I become.
I mark a 2007 interview I did with Scott Shafer for the California Report on NPR as one of my highlights as Santa.
In the off season I am a US Merchant Marine Captain and operate a tour boat company of of PIER 39 in San Francisco.

Santa can not be seated next to a fire place... I don't do that kind of heat well unless it's Hawaii in January and I'm at the BBQ.
I am a professional Santa and will act as so if there are children around or not. No discussion.
For longer gigs, small room or office where Santa can or to change into and out of costume, or take a break away from children's eyes for a few minutes is requested, but not required. 0
Chocolate Chip cookies are my favorite.
