Not every child is ready for Santa, and that's okay. I never force a child onto my knee. I gently adjust by crouching nearby, standing behind for a "sneaky Santa" photo, or simply offering a wave. I've brought Christmas to children facing cancer, hearing loss, dyslexia, and other special needs, and I can leave my jingle bells off for sensory-sensitive kids. Babies are always welcome in Santa's arms.
