January 19, 2020Mesmerizing performance!
This was our first time hiring Safiya for one of our events, and it definitely won't be our last! Her performance was absolutely mesmerizing. Our guests were on the edge of their seats the whole time, and Safiya's attention to detail made the evening perfect. Her costuming was elegant, her dancing was traditional, and her song selections were perfect for the mix of guests that we had at our party, pleasing both my Lebanese husband and our american friends. We've had many belly dancers at our events over the years, but Safiya is, by far, our most favorite!

Safiya is the best. My guests from all age groups had a wonderful time and they are still talking about it. She was the highlight of my party with her performance and everybody kept dancing more than 2 hours after she left. If you'd like your party tops your in-laws party, hire her! ;)

Lose yourself in the swirling of silk veils, the jingle of Kuchi coins and bells, and the hypnotic movements of dancers performing one of the worlds most ancient art forms.

Safiya Nawaar is a Raqs Sharqi, Belly Dance Artist, instructor and choreographer located in the Lexington, Kentucky area.
With grace and style, she enthralls and captivates audiences of all ages and ethnicity, and is well known for her artistic flair and challenging use of props such as veils, sword, ziller/sagat, Wings of Isis, Assaya/Cane, Moroccan Tray and Shemadan. Her area of expertise lies firmly rooted in performing improvisational dance that comes from the heart and soul of the dancer, which makes every solo performance unique.
She prides herself not only in the more traditional forms of Raqs Sharqi, but also in the conception of her own modern fusion of Belly dance, utilizing all the elements from her diverse dance education.
Additional booking notes
Safiya can Provide Music for her performances on either iPod or CD, but also can perform with a live band if you wish to provide one.
Safiya also can provide a high quality sound system for a small additional fee if needed. Just make sure to let her know At the time of your booking.
