Sadubas, aka The Sadhus of Bass, converges classical Indian rhythms with 70s Bollywood vibes to create psychedelic soundscapes that are one part trip hop and two parts cinematic south Asia. Electronic artists Robin Sukhadia and Ameet Mehta bring a wide range of contemporary influences to their compositions, including media samples, Bollywood grooves, and classical Indian rhythm and raga. We incorporate live instrumentation into our sets, including sitar, tabla, horns, and guitar, elevating the sound and energy for any kind of event.
I heard Sadubas on SoundCloud and knew we had to book them. Their first event was in Oct. 17 for a 350-person campus party (outdoor) for homecoming. I loved them so much we rebooked them for a 350-person graduating students dinner (indoor) hosted by the alumni office in May. Sadubas are professional, respond to inquiries promptly, and work with the client diligently to understand the nuances of each event. Furthermore, they have the ability to 'read the room' and provide sounds that are appropriate. I appreciated the mix of tempos and moods they created for each event. Furthermore, the mixes resonated and gained widespread positive feedback from a diverse audience, very few of whom would be familiar with the Indian traditions included. This is really important because Sadubas provides music that ALL can enjoy and to suit any mood from trancey and subtle to rousing and energetic. "Run, don't walk" to book them yourself before I book them a third time.

We are lovers of all things Bollywood and Indian Classical music, and like to elevate both with contemporary music elements. You can expect a lounge vibe that is both fun and sophisticated, and family friendly. We often bring in beats and recognizable sonic elements that can move the dancefloor. If budget allows, we bring in exceptional world musicians on sitar, tabla, horns, percussion and flute to elevate the energy and dynamic feel of our music. Our sound is unique, and we truly love to perform for audiences of all backgrounds.
We are kind and professional, and built our reputation through performing in a wide range of LA's finest venues including LACMA, the Hammer Museum, the Bowery Museum, and Grand Park. We also have performed in intimate spaces for smaller audiences. We are flexible and accessible, and will work with you to curate the perfect sonic ambiance. If you want a more classical Indian vibe, we can focus on that. If you want more energy and more Bollywood, we can adjust. We know that your time is precious, and we operate with the highest level of professional service.
Robin Sukhadia (aka tablapusher)
A Master in Fine Arts graduate from the World Music program at the California Institute of the Arts, Robin Sukhadia has been studying tabla (classical north Indian drums) under Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri at CalArts and the Ali Akbar College of Music in San Rafael, California for the past twelve years. He currently studies with Swapanji's nephew Debashish Chaudhuri. In 2010, Robin was awarded a Fulbright Senior Research Award to expand his work with music education for underserved communities in India.
Ameet Mehta (aka PartTimeChiller)
PartTimeChiller (alias for multi-genre Los Angeles based DJ / beat producer Ameet Mehta) has been moving dance floors, galleries and intimate gatherings for the past 20 years with an eclectic selection of global rhythms sampling from 70’s Bollywood funk, experimental hip hop and beyond. He is a creative technologist by trade and current Chief Technology Officer of underground music and culture magazine (link hidden). Ameet has delivered eccentric performances at LACMA, U.R. Art, The Broad Stage and various venues from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and has set the vibe opening for a variety of artists including Thievery Corporation's Rob Garza and Los Angeles's DEEP Resident, Marques Wyatt.
We perform using laptops with Ableton software, along with tabla (north Indian percussion) and keyboards. We also offer visuals (featuring Bollywood film clips and sequences) if budget permits.
We have JBL Eon 415 speakers and a mixer that is available to rent, if you are in need of a sound system.
