Overview

Sadie Varius is a classically trained electric violinist performing on a one-of-a-kind transparent LED violin — an instrument that glows through the dark and turns a reception into a show your guests will film.

One artist covers your whole event: elegant classical violin for the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner, then the electric light show for the dance floor, solo or over your DJ's set. Trained in Paris from age three and now based in New York, she has played The Plaza Hotel, the Ziegfeld Ballroom and venues across the tri-state area, always with her own concert-grade sound — nothing asked of your venue.

What to expect

The moment guests remember is the one they film: a one-of-a-kind transparent violin, lit from within, glowing blue, gold, green, red or white to match the palette of your event. For evening shows, Sadie pairs it with a couture dress woven with light. There is no backing-track karaoke here: the instrument carries eight microphones embedded in its body, amplified through her own concert-grade sound, so every nuance reaches the last row.

What a client gets is a complete musical arc from one artist. The ceremony and dinner belong to the classical violin: restrained, elegant, every vow and every toast heard. The cocktail hour lifts through Bach, film scores and pop. And when the evening turns, the LED violin takes the floor: solo over your DJ's set, or with her hand-picked New York network of DJ, drums and saxophone.

From an event planner's point of view, the logistics are the quiet luxury: she arrives early, sends a clear one-page technical rider ahead, plugs into any house system, and for gardens, terraces, tents, beaches or lofts without sound, she brings and runs her own professional rig. One artist, one point of contact, nothing asked of your venue.

The background behind the show: classical training in Paris from age three, fifteen years on France's grandest stages including the Theatre du Chatelet, the Ritz Paris and a private evening at the Louis Vuitton flagship. Now based in New York, her recent engagements include The Plaza Hotel, the Ziegfeld Ballroom, Park Chateau Estate, The Legacy Castle and The Bohlin on Newport Harbor. Her cover of Ludovico Einaudi's "Experience" has passed 800,000 views on YouTube.

Every request is answered within 24 hours with an exact, per-event quote that holds your date for 7 days. A 30 percent deposit and a standard contract secure the booking; if she can ever not perform, you get a vetted replacement or a full refund. Weddings, galas, corporate events, milestone birthdays and private parties across New York City, Long Island and the Hamptons, Westchester, New Jersey, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

About

The Ritz in Paris. The Plaza in New York. 800,000 views online. How far can a childhood beside the Eiffel Tower carry a violin?

Paris trains its musicians the old way. Sadie entered the conservatory at three — a child scarcely taller than her violin, first classes steps from the Eiffel Tower — and gave it her whole childhood: the daily discipline, the exacting teachers, later the masterclasses in Sardinia with internationally renowned violinists. Thirty years on, that is what walks into your venue: not someone who plays the violin — someone the violin raised.

Fifteen years of performing in France followed, mainly in Paris: the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Théâtre Mogador for Orange, the Ritz Paris, a private event inside the Louis Vuitton flagship on the Champs-Élysées, the Audi e-tron launch party steps from the Eiffel Tower, Fouquet's Enghien-les-Bains, and Laval Virtual, France's premier tech stage.

Four years ago she moved to New York, and built something that didn't exist here: a solo act with the power of a production. At its center, an instrument that exists nowhere else: a transparent violin built for her by an artisan luthier, eight microphones seeded through its body — the result of her long pursuit of a sound that loses nothing, refined year after year. Around it, her own concert-grade sound, a couture dress woven with light, and a hand-picked network of New York musicians for events that call for more. The calendar now runs from weddings at The Plaza Hotel and the Ziegfeld Ballroom to charity galas in the Hamptons. Online, her cover of Ludovico Einaudi's "Experience" has passed 800,000 views — the same playing those rooms hear live.

What she sells is not a setlist. It is a room's undivided attention — the conversation that stops mid-sentence, the processional, the first look, the reveal — aimed where it belongs: at you. The evening your guests keep talking about is yours, not hers. Played once, and remembered.

Additional booking notes

SETUP AND SPACE
Sadie performs solo and travels light: a small performance area is enough, indoors or outdoors. No stage is required, though she is happy to use one. Setup is handled well before guests arrive, with levels and a soundcheck settled with your team or venue before doors open.

SOUND, TWO WAYS

Venues with a house system: a clear one-page technical rider is sent ahead of the event, and her violin plugs straight into the venue's system. Plug and play for your production team.
Venues without a system, or outdoor settings (lawns, beaches, tents, terraces, rooftops, lofts): she brings and runs her own professional concert-grade sound. Nothing is asked of the venue beyond access to a standard power outlet near the performance area.
LIGHTING
None required. The transparent violin is lit from within (blue, gold, green, red or white, matched to your palette), and the couture light dress carries its own illumination. The LED show reads best in a dimmed or evening room; for daytime ceremonies she performs on the classical violin or the electric violin unlit, which is elegant in full daylight.

INSTRUMENTS
Both instruments travel with her: a classical acoustic violin for ceremonies, dinners and daytime sets, and the custom transparent electric violin with eight embedded microphones for the evening show.

OUTDOOR NOTES
Fully self-contained for open-air performances. For rain or direct summer sun, a covered or shaded spot for the electronics is appreciated, as with any amplified act.

WITH DJ OR ENSEMBLE
The show can run over your DJ's set (a popular format) or with her hand-picked New York network of DJ, drums and saxophone, coordinated through a single point of contact.

PLANNING
Requests are answered within 24 hours with an exact per-event quote, valid 7 days. A 30 percent deposit with a standard contract secures the date; the balance is settled on arrival. Travel throughout NYC, Long Island, the Hamptons, Westchester, New Jersey, Connecticut and Rhode Island, with travel included in the quote.

Influences and inspiration

Sadie's playing sits where classical discipline meets modern cinema and pop. Ludovico Einaudi is the influence audiences know her by — her cover of "Experience" has passed 800,000 views on YouTube — alongside Hans Zimmer, whose "Interstellar" theme is a signature of her acoustic sets. Underneath it all is J.S. Bach, the backbone of fifteen years of French conservatory training. On the modern side, her sets draw on artists like Tom Odell and The Irrepressibles, reimagined for violin, and on electronic music for the late-night LED shows. The result is one arc: Bach at the ceremony, film scores at cocktail hour, and electro on the dance floor.
