July 10, 2025I've been blessed to hear Ryan Thurgaland perform several times. He is an amazing saxophone artist. I don't think there's one piece or genre of music that he cannot play. He takes request for music that he's never played and can play it perfectly. He has wonderful stage presents and is so charming. When he is playing, little children in the audience approach the stage dancing and he joins them much to their delight. I was lucky to be in the audience once when a gentleman asked Ryan to play a special song while the gentleman proposed to his girlfriend. It was a magical moment that I will not forget.

Ryan Thurgaland is a talented professional tenor, alto, and soprano saxophonist from central Florida. Originally from Ocklawaha, Florida, he currently travels to and from Nashville, Tennessee, where he attends Belmont University; studying Commercial Saxophone Performance and performs with musical groups, records for musicians. Ryan has been playing the saxophone for over 10 years, and for the last 5 years he has been playing professionally as a soloist as well as with other musicians in both Florida and Tennessee.
Ryan Thurgaland has had notable accomplishments in his music career. Beginning at the young age of 13 he played on stage with professional musicians in Florida’s local open mic scene. In 2020, he was recruited by a local original Reggae band, Propaganjah, performing throughout the central Florida area. Ryan also performs all over central Florida as a solo act, where his set includes songs by Duke Ellington, Bill Withers, Santana, Paul Dezmon, Alecia Keys, and more. In high school, Ryan had the honor of being the saxophone section leader as he performed in the school's Marching band, Concert band, and Jazz Band. He got superiors on all 4 of his solo and ensemble performances.
As Ryan progressed throughout school, his love for music began to show and he began gaining recognition as a gifted musician. Where some people would be getting burnt out with the amount of practicing required in this field, Ryan’s passion for the saxophone has only been growing. Ryan’s goal is to become an original artist. Keep your eye out for this one, because he is going places.
