What to expect
At a Rust Belt show, audiences can expect a high-energy yet deeply rooted live experience built on chemistry, groove, and connection. The band delivers a dynamic blend of original songs and carefully chosen covers, seamlessly weaving gritty roots rock, jam-inspired exploration, and soulful storytelling into a set that feels both familiar and fresh. Twin guitars, a locked-in rhythm section, and thoughtful arrangements create a sound that fills the room without losing its raw, honest edge.
Each performance is shaped by the moment—songs may stretch, tempos may shift, and the crowd becomes part of the journey. Whether the band is digging into a heartfelt original or reimagining a classic from the Grateful Dead, The Band, or Tom Petty, Rust Belt plays with intention and feel. Audiences leave knowing they didn’t just hear a set of songs—they experienced a night of music that was alive, unfiltered, and meant to be shared.
About
Rust Belt is a southeastern Wisconsin–based roots rock band formed in April of 2016 by a group of seasoned, road-tested musicians with deep ties to American rock, jam, and Americana traditions. Drawing from decades of collective experience, Paul Aceto (bass), Brandon Shilts (guitar), Don Miller (drums), and Pete Rallo (guitar) joined forces to create a band built on feel, chemistry, and musical storytelling.
Rust Belt’s sound is unmistakable—gritty yet soulful, steeped in melody and groove, and driven by dynamic twin-guitar interplay and a rock-solid rhythm section. Their original songs paint vivid pictures of working-class life, personal reflection, and the culture that surrounds them, blending roots rock authenticity with jam-band freedom and heartfelt songwriting. Each performance is shaped by the moment, allowing songs to stretch, breathe, and connect deeply with the audience.
Equally at home delivering multiple full nights of original music or crafting a thoughtfully curated set of covers, Rust Belt pays homage to influential artists while making each song their own. Their repertoire includes music from Ryan Adams, Jason Isbell, The Allman Brothers Band, Widespread Panic, the Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Paul Simon, Government Mule, Bob Dylan, Manfred Mann, Jerry Garcia, The Band, The Monkees, and more—always approached with respect, energy, and a roots-driven edge.
Whether on a club stage, festival bill, or late-night bar set, Rust Belt brings a powerful, honest, and engaging live show that celebrates the past while pushing forward—music meant to be felt as much as it’s heard.
Additional booking notes
Rust Belt generally uses a full 24 channels for a live sound gig. We travel with a full 1950’s Hammond B3 organ and a Leslie speaker for it. It requires both low and hi cabinet mics. We tour with our own preferred vocal mics and are more than happy to work with stage monitor people as well as front of house people. Rust Belt is flexible with most all situations and in most all environments. We do need four unique monitor mixes, but will certainly work within most any situation.

Set list
Rust Belt has over 200 original songs to pull from on any given night. Tracks from our CD include: For The Money, 99 Miles, Martha, Welcome to America, Working Outside, My Side. As well as newer songs such as Rosie, Kicking in the Door, The River, Open Road, Death, Tulsa, Demon's in the Rain, Gas & Matches, Long Hard Road.
Rust Belt has done it's fair share of covers, but they are rare and few. Mighty Quin, Franklins Tower, Fortunate Son, For What It's Worth, Get Back on the Train, and The Pusher to name just a few. Given time constraints, Rust Belt is always willing to pick up a specific song if the occasion arises.
