Ruchell Alexander Early Jazz Pianist

Playing the Classic Early Jazz of the 1920's to the 1940's, for example tunes by Duke Ellington as well as Ragtime from the turn of the century by composers like Scott Joplin, Joseph Lamb and James Scott besides his own compositions. Ruchell is also adept at many Beatles classics. He specializes in music of the Philippine Islands as well as Boogie Woogie, Pop and Blues. Ruchell has been performing solo Piano in the Northern New Mexico area for the past 33 years.
He received his initial training through private lessons with Dr. Susan Blinderman in Taos, New Mexico for 9 years and went on to major in Piano performance at the University of North Texas.
