November 2, 2025Highly recommend!!
We were absolutely blown away by Roy who performed at my niece’s baby shower! His music was breathtakingly beautiful and set the most elegant, joyful tone for the entire afternoon. Every note felt warm and heartfelt — it created such a special atmosphere that truly made the day unforgettable.
If you’re looking for someone who can elevate any event with incredible talent, professionalism, and soul, I can’t recommend him enough. His performance made our baby shower extra special and will be remembered by everyone who attended. 🎶💗

About
Welcome! I’m Roy Calzadillas, a cellist and music educator passionate about helping others grow through music. Drawn to music from a young age, I’ve devoted my life to the expressive power of the cello and the transformative connection it fosters between performer, student, and audience. I teach cello lessons throughout the Houston area and am dedicated to guiding students of all ages toward joyful, meaningful musicianship.
I began my cello journey at age 11 and studied under Professor Patrick Moore at the University of St. Thomas. I’m currently continuing my studies in Music Education at Sam Houston State University under Dr. Daniel Saenz. I’m trained in Suzuki teaching methods and embrace the Suzuki philosophy that every child can learn and thrive with the right guidance, encouragement, and care.
I’ve performed in a wide variety of ensembles, from chamber groups and church services to full orchestras and pit productions. I find equal fulfillment in connecting with audiences in concert halls and in teaching one-on-one with students, believing that both are sacred spaces for growth, creativity, and self-expression.
As a teacher, I strive to create a warm, structured, and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, goal-setting, and confidence. I guide my students through a blend of technical foundations, musical interpretation, and creative exploration, and I also help them prepare for Region, UIL, and Solo & Ensemble competitions.
Whether you’re a beginner or preparing for auditions, I’d love to support you on your cello journey. Beyond teaching, I dream of bringing music education to underserved communities in Brazoria County, where I grew up.
