Rob'd Illusions

Rob’d Illusions is an exciting journey through the twisted mind of award winning Illusionist Rob Testa.
It is an animated, vaudevillian, self-deprecating depiction of what the differences between Magic and Illusion are, all while what Rob says he dislikes “accidentally” occurs throughout the show… 
The performance is a consistent buildup to an eventual breakdown; however, everything comes together at the climax of the show. What may seem like clear failures, become premeditated triumphs. It is the ultimate roller coaster ride of emotions where the audience is embarrassed with Rob; then rejoices with him.
Also imbedded within the act is the story of Rob’s struggle with the balance of his rocky love life and even rockier performance life.
The show includes many unique Illusion routines that have been created by Rob and have imparted him with much acclaim amongst the Magical Arts community.

Rob has been refining this act since 2005 and has performed iterations of the show at various venues and festivals worldwide including the #1 All-Inclusive Family Beach Resort in the world, "Beaches Negril" of The Sandals Company in Jamaica; Carnival's "Costa Magica" Cruise Ship; The Nanjing International Clown Festival in Nanjing, China; various festivals, corporate events and private parties in Dubai, UAE; The Top Talent Festival in Vancouver, BC; 4 feature performances at The Gentlemen’s Expo at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre; and countless others. 
He has also performed at numerous corporate events for clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Starbucks, Deloitte, Angus Glen Golf Course, TD Bank, RBC & CIBC to name a few.

I love Magic. I love Comedy.
When I was a child, I begged my parents every year for a Magician to perform for my Birthday. Since my parents love me, they would (almost) always oblige.
To go along with the theme of the Magic Show, they would often give me a Magic Kit as my birthday present, and I would spend every minute of my free time practising the tricks for the next month or two.
That's when performance time came around. Everyone I saw would witness the tricks I just spent so much time perfecting. I made sure to show everyone... multiple times.

Eventually, as I grew into young-adulthood, I grew extremely fond of the Comedy world. I was amazed at how I could make people laugh by combining words in a specific way; or saying something in a different tone of voice; or saying nothing, but using my facial expressions and body language.

I started to realize that although fundamentally different, Magic & Comedy try to do essentially the same thing... bring positivity into the lives of those witnessing.

I decided that I would combine both of the things I love so much into one art and travel the world doing it.

My name is Rob Testa, and my work is my hobby.

I mostly provide everything needed for my act depending on the audience size.
If there will be less than 150 people in the audience, I bring everything needed. Just sit back and enjoy.
If there will be more than 150 people in the audience, please advise DJ or Sound Tech that I will plug in my equipment. My system can be plugged into any system used (XLR, 1/4", 3/4", Balanced or Unbalanced, Line, etc.)
Also, if there will be more than 150 people in the audience, a stage/riser is not required but GREATLY helps. Magic/Illusion is a visual art and needs to be seen to be enjoyed.
